As part of our unit on Global Connections, Year 6 investigated If the World Were a village, from a range of perspectives. This is an excellent text where data representation is an integral component of the book. To link with Mathematics, students identified a range of attributes of the whole class e.g. no. of siblings; grandparents country of origin etc.  - enough for one attribute per student. After gathering their data, they used an app of their choice, to depict the data visually, to show If All the World Were Our Classroom.
Wish I had read ahead to this module before the holidays - it did made a great display for Catholic Schools Week!! #csertask2

Catching up too.....

The mantra which I've been repeating "its not about the devices, but the learning" is now gathering momentum as I delve into this course looking not at the technology which is changing how our students learn but what technology they can develop as part of their learning. Being introduced to the Technologies Leaning Area in the Aus. Curr. was exciting and challenging to say the least.
This video also provides new horizons and worth watching. the shortest distance between two points is no longer a straight line but the same place when the points are touching......who'd have thought?#cserTask1
