Eating various types of non-fried fish may help reduce joint pain and swelling associated with rheumatoid arthritis, according to a study recently published in Arthritis Care and Research. The lead author, Dr. Sara K. Tedeschi, of Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, noted that the observed reductions in pain and swelling from the lowest to the highest group in fish intake were clinically significant: “The magnitude of the effect is large — about one-third of the expected magnitude of the standard drug treatment of rheumatoid arthritis with methotrexate.” For more information, visit http://buff.ly/2tqj5Qn and, ask our pharmacist about the benefits of fish oil supplements.
