I have never seen such a disregard for the words of the constitution than this current president and we may as well include the Congress in the disregard. Not only does he goes against the spirit of America.

There was a time when being an American meant something. The people had a real voice. Now I'm almost ashamed to be a part of the world police force.

The majority of Americans are against this war, but then I see people like John Kerry and McCain as well as the president act like the word of the people do not count. This is not the way the founding fathers meant this to be. Personally I think we should vote them all out, if we get another chance.

I know that few actually want conflict in Syria. Most are still stung by the mistakes in Iraq (and there are many). Others would justify non-action because of past failures. But, does a failure to act in the past justify a failure to act today?
We should all look to the 20's and 30's as the warning. Had the western world stood up to Japan in the far east, Italy in Africa, Germany in Europe, the world may have a different looking map today. But since time can't be rolled back, look at its lessons. Failing to stop bully states created dictatorships that triggered a world war. Failing to appreciate that lesson may doom us to a new dark age...one that we can see from many miles away and failed to stop.
No one actually wants war, or even limited strikes on Syria. Few think that a conflict will spiral, but neither did former UK Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain as he (and his allies) threw Czechoslovakia under a bus in 1939...to the sound of the dismissive rant of "...... a quarrel in a far away country between people of whom we know nothing."
The lessons of history are all there for everyone to see. If you choose to look.
