A good, albeit lengthy, conversation on the state of recruiting.  My quick summary and bookmarks for ya':

At the 10:28 mark where we hear the predictions related to the future of #recruiting .
1. The death of Job Boards
2. +LinkedIn conspiracy theory lockout
3. Recruiters that won't change won't be successful
(yes, these are stale and even silly in their absolutes but to be fair, +Greg Savage is predicting the future - something that is both difficult and that most industry folks despise being asked to do.)

At the 17:30 mark I think he nails it with regards to the unfortunate condition of candidate care (I'd say that it's a tough state in both 3rd party and corporate to be perfectly candid.)
I love the comment that "we have to get away from passive and active candidates - they're all candidates, we just need to ignite them!"

There's some solid +Lou Adler influence around the 22:30 mark where recruiters should be reminded that everyone will become a candidate if the offer is compelling enough.

At 23:33 there is some conversation around the #TheCandidateExperience  and the current challenges perceived as the catalyst for the continued challenge to deliver a great experience across the board.
Funny tweet referenced: https://twitter.com/1ntelligence/status/338399749440942081

Jumping ahead, you can grab the closing summary at 36:08 where we hear thoughts around recruiters creating and managing a personal brand through candidate interaction.  One point that I disagree with is the complete separation of personal and professional interests online - but that's an entirely different debate.

There's nothing revolutionary in the interview, but recruiters should find some nice reminders around candidate care, skills of a good recruiter, the power and value of +LinkedIn and maybe even some realization that some challenges that we're pushing through today are global and not just local to each of us and our markets.

Thanks for conducting the interview, +Shane McCusker and the time you donated to sharing, Greg Savage.

Antal International Bracknell - Specialist ITC Recruitment Consultancy -- We will find the top talent you cannot find yourself
Introduction
ANTAL INTERNATIONAL BRACKNELL - specialist ICT recruitment
We attract for you the talent you can’t get for yourself

DOES YOUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS DELIVER TOP TALENT, RELIABLY AND CONSISTENTLY?

According to a recent survey LESS THAN 20% of potential candidates are actively looking for a new job TODAY.

Our clients tell us that the value we bring them is to attract the top talent they cannot attract themselves; we help them succeed where they have previously failed.

Attract candidates from the 80% that are not actively looking (without ignoring the 20% that are), the benefit of this to you is clear; you will know that you have seen the best talent that is available today, not just those you managed to get to respond to your job opening. AND YOU WILL SAVE MONEY!

ARE YOU LOOKING TO REDUCE RECRUITMENT COSTS?

The first thing most companies do to reduce their costs is look at spend on external recruiters.

Fees paid to external recruiters can seem high and if you can manage to find the people you need yourself then they are unnecessary (and we are not cheap!) so we agree, if you can effectively recruit yourself why wouldn’t you?

Many of the clients we successfully work with today, tell us they are looking to reduce their recruitment costs but have found that these costs are not just about how much they pay the recruiter, the hidden costs are the time spent by each person engaged in the process, time wasted by:
• Reviewing countless inappropriate CVs.
• Undertaking a multitude of first stage interview to get to a realistic shortlist of candidates.
• Candidate dropouts due to lack of proper engagement, ineffective screening, verification of qualifications and achievements etc.
• Re-recruiting for the same role when the recruitment fails due to, say, a lack of a proper qualification process.
