Great gift shop if that is what you are looking for... the nature park is very outdated, dirty, and actually creepy. No landscaping, flowers or bushes at all. Just out dated cages with some animals in them.... Glass tanks in the Ecolab were so dirty and covered in webs you could hardly see the animals. They advertise a zip line which is not even a zip line! And once you pay and get inside you have to pay for everything else you may want to do separately. Very disappointed and not worth the money.

The nature park was a bit under the weather while we were there. It had rained a lot, and many parts were flooded and inaccessible. The Shell Factory though was great! Tons of shopping and some interesting things for the kids to look at. Easy to lose someone in this place due to its size.

The Shell Factory is a quirky and amusing place. It's very big and we saw a lot of strange and cool things. There're a ton of sea shells and other souvenirs. The dead baby sharks in jars were kind of disturbing, but everything else was interesting

Thank you for your review. We understand that not everything in The Shell Factory appeals to everyone. By no means are we trying to offend anyone. However we try to expose and educate children and adults, showing items like "shark in a bottle" or taxidermy animals. Most people will never be able to encounter such animals! Thank you so much for visiting with us and do hope to see you again! Sandy

Spent an hour walking around the gift shop. Absolutely hilarious . Its like a giant outdated dollar store. Its full of overpriced junk. Place smells old and dirty. Cringe. If you want to see shells go to the shell museum on sanibel. If you want to see plastic junk come here.

I'm here with my family right now. We adore this place! No trip to Florida would be complete with hitting the Shell Factory!

I went to the nature park two years ago and it needed some work. I returned last week and as an animal lover and activist I am so happy with the work that has been done. The cages were very clean, the animals happy & well taken care of, & tons of toys to keep animals stimulated. I also love their mission that they only obtain animals that are in need. The staff were great and offered us the cheapest option possible. Also visited the shell factory, zipline, & mini golf. All great. Highly recommend this place!

Thank you so much for your awesome review! We are trying very hard to be the best we can be. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication from the staff, owners and community. We hold several events during the year to help with the cost of maintaining our animals as well as keeping their habitats renovated and fresh. Every year we hold a fundraiser and in January we hold our annual Gumbo Fest with the proceeds going directly to our Nature Park Environmental Education Foundation (501c3) please see our website for more information on these and other events

...because it closes at 6pm. Awful hours that chase working people away.In order to let us come..noon to 8 or 1-9 would capture more people. Wanted to bring friends there but they leave on Friday to go home..Love the nature park. Wish they still had some of the old animals before the hurricane. My favorite photo of the kids were them riding the elephant and feeding the deer and the camel. The Lions and tigers and bears were really "oh,my" and sooooo close up unlike a zoo...still a sucker for the petting park!
