The nature park was a bit under the weather while we were there. It had rained a lot, and many parts were flooded and inaccessible. The Shell Factory though was great! Tons of shopping and some interesting things for the kids to look at. Easy to lose someone in this place due to its size.

The Shell Factory is a quirky and amusing place. It's very big and we saw a lot of strange and cool things. There're a ton of sea shells and other souvenirs. The dead baby sharks in jars were kind of disturbing, but everything else was interesting

Thank you for your review. We understand that not everything in The Shell Factory appeals to everyone. By no means are we trying to offend anyone. However we try to expose and educate children and adults, showing items like "shark in a bottle" or taxidermy animals. Most people will never be able to encounter such animals! Thank you so much for visiting with us and do hope to see you again! Sandy

This place is dated, but I loved coming here as a kid. Now my kids love it too. Feeding the turtles and fish is lots of fun.

Strange place, yet curiously entertaining for our two daughters. My wife loves the Christmas store. They host school field trips and do a nice educational program.

I went to the nature park two years ago and it needed some work. I returned last week and as an animal lover and activist I am so happy with the work that has been done. The cages were very clean, the animals happy & well taken care of, & tons of toys to keep animals stimulated. I also love their mission that they only obtain animals that are in need. The staff were great and offered us the cheapest option possible. Also visited the shell factory, zipline, & mini golf. All great. Highly recommend this place!

Thank you so much for your awesome review! We are trying very hard to be the best we can be. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication from the staff, owners and community. We hold several events during the year to help with the cost of maintaining our animals as well as keeping their habitats renovated and fresh. Every year we hold a fundraiser and in January we hold our annual Gumbo Fest with the proceeds going directly to our Nature Park Environmental Education Foundation (501c3) please see our website for more information on these and other events www.shellfactory.com

We went today for what we thought would be a fun activity with our 3 year old. We are here on vacation. The shell store was great, with a ton of different shells etc but the nature park was just awful. I had this feeling of guilt that we actually paid about $35 to see animals that were in tiny tiny enclosures, and the animals all looked sad/dirty, and most of them were missing. The place itself is super dated and needs some serious updating. There's a dinosaur part and the statues are all chipped, old paint- and the place just looked so dingy to us. The worst part for me personally, was seeing a zebra and a camel in tiny enclosures, with no enrichment for them. I wouldn't recommend it.

The Shell Factory is iconic. They have done lots of things to invite the community and bring in tourism. The nature park is a taste of Florida and is safe for the whole family. You can spend many hours here with the family and not be bored. They have a wonderful Christmas Shoppe and reasonably priced gifts. The restaurant has great service, a wide selection menu and the food is very good. You can eat inside or outside.

Iconic attraction, so glad it has survived through the years. I recommend the shell factory for any low cost family outing.
