Google moving code out of Open Source Android Projecthttp://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/10/googles-iron-grip-on-android-controlling-open-source-by-any-means-necessary/
I am not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.
With more of Google services going closed source it means manufacturers are less likely to screw around with Google's apps. I don't know about you but I have never find the added programs or features from manufactures that good? If anything they are annoying as they clutter up your app draw.
Google's strategy does mean you can still port newer android versions to devices long abandoned by the manufacturer.
I am leaning towards it being a good thing.
