Winter Hutch Decor in My Dining Room

I actually decorated my hutch soon after Christmas ended because I was ready to remove all the colorful pops of red from around my home. When making the transition from Christmas hutch decor to winter hutch decor, I was determined only use decor pieces I already owned.

I chose to focus my DIY bookcase makeover on the two-tone color combination and the crown molding at the top. I also decided to put my own spin on it and add four legs at the bottom instead of installing more molding. #diyproject #furnituremakeover

After making this DIY address sign, I wondered why I didn’t make it sooner. It was so easy to make, and I only spent $5. #diyproject #homeimprovement

A Simple & Cozy Fall Tablescape

I'm ready for fall nights. Spending the evening outside, enjoying delicious food, surrounded by wonderful people, sounds like time well spent to me.

The below tablescape was made indoors but could easily be adapted to an outdoor patio or lawn. #fall #falltablescape

I am slightly obsessed with wreaths pretty much anytime of the year. Green leaf wreaths are beautiful because they look great both as indoor and outdoor wreaths. Plus, they’re fitting for really any season.

Here's how I made my very own magnolia leaf wreath for under $7: http://www.abrickhome.com/2017/08/diy-magnolia-leaf-wreath/

For the past couple weeks, I spent (probably too much) time searching for a new area rug for our living room.

The main issue I faced with rug shopping was that I had no idea where to begin. There are a million rugs out there – how could I possibly find my perfect needle in that huge haystack? That’s when I took a step back, crafted an actual process, and then began my search.

Next time you’re searching for an area rug, instead of grabbing the first one you see, try following an approach like the one outlined below. Hopefully you will be happy with your purchase and won’t have to face the hassle of returning or exchanging it.

I am an avid painter. In fact, I usually opt to repaint or refinish a piece of old furniture before I even consider buying something new. It’s not because I love painting, but rather because I like a good deal. I firmly believe that it’s possible to have beautiful furniture without paying outrageous prices. A little paint can go a long way.
