the bar at taj is fancy. fancy couches, fancy piano player, fancy free bar snacks, and fancy location overlooking the public garden. not casual enough for my typical saturday night, but definitely a lovely spot when you feel like a strong drink and some peace and quiet.

This place is pricey, but excellent if you want to watch creepy guys interacting with very young girls. They have the typical classic cocktails, and here's a fun fact: they keep the Cristal in a safe and when you order it security guards are required to be present. The food looks good but I haven't tried it.

good classic cocktails, leather couches, and traditional veneer, but not at the level of the ritz, which what the taj was in a previous life. great for a business meeting, or quiet, private drink. not for a girls night out.

Average food. Overpriced. Even though the restaurant was empty the host seated us right next to a busy register. The chair I sat in was pretty dirty -- after the meal I found crumbs stuck to my skirt. If they didn't have a staff that outnumbered customers I probably wouldn't mention it. Note: this review is for the Taj cafe/restaurant which doesn't seem to be listed apart from the Taj bar/lounge.
