World Glaucoma Week

There is a thief among us – a stealthy culprit that instills a false sense of security under the guise of “normalcy”, robs his victims bit by bit.

By the time the person notices that something isn't right, it's usually too late to undo the damage. As glaucoma develops practically without producing any symptoms or warning signs, this illness is rightly characterized as "the sneak thief of sight."

World Glaucoma Week is aimed at raising awareness of glaucoma – as it is by no means a rare condition. The clouding of the lens, known as cataracts, is the only condition that causes more people to go blind worldwide. Damage to the eye's nerve fibers can be detected early using diagnostic systems from ZEISS. Early detection and treatment can help in slowing down the advancement of the condition and in retaining the remaining eyesight for as long as possible.

Abbe School of Photonics Visits Oberkochen

On a recent trip to Oberkochen, students from the Abbe School of Photonics at the University of Jena visited ZEISS.
As well as a tour of the Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology business group's facility, there were presentations on the theme of "The fascination of working in the semiconductor industry" and opportunities and career development possibilities at ZEISS. This was followed by an extensive insight into the world of Research and Technology – including a lab tour.

Thank you for your visit!
