You may have heard that the internet is winning: net neutrality was saved, broadband was redefined to encourage higher speeds, and the dreaded Comcast-Time Warner Cable megamerger potentially thwarted. But the harsh reality is that America's internet is still fundamentally broken, and there's no easy fix.

The first time he saw North Korean leader Kim Il Sung in person, No Kum Sok decided he better start pretending to be a good Communist. Then he started plotting his escape from North Korea, which he managed to pull off in a Soviet-made fighter jet.

I hope you don't mind, +John Ellsworth , the librarian in me is still sharing information with you, and it's awesome that your kids already know Ken Rowe's story.

A hot dog and a couple of beers, the simple food and diverse drink were excellent. The service, though, was abysmal: Dan, the bartender, was more interested in cussing and gossiping with his off-shift colleague, whose food arrived before mine, even though I ordered first. I went without a beer for the entire time I was eating, even though Dan was only a few feet away. What I realized tonight was actually how service is more important than food and drink, I'd gladly re-attend some place with mediocre product but superior service. Also, I have 4 kids and don't get out often, and as a former waiter and bartender, tonight's the first time in my life I've not included a tip, and I told him it was because he took too long. Sorry, Petoskey Brewing, attend to your service.

Design Rides and the owner, John, are really terrific. John actually made a housecall to assist with the wonky car alarm on our Volvo, he was quick and really affordable. Having enjoyed a good experience, I also had Design Rides install a new stereo in my RV, which was, again, prompt and affordable. Couldn't recommend higher.

The bathroom could be a little less scary, and it would be great if the restaurants and bars in this country went smokeless, but the service is always prompt and courteous, and the burgers and fries are always terrific.
