#BookReview of #Delta from #ReadersFavorite - https://readersfavorite.com/book-review/delta

Reviewed by Liz Konkel for Readers' Favorite

Delta by Tolar Miles is a Southern novel. Delta's life has never been boring. She's a single mom raising her son, Mason, with the help of friends and his father, Calvin, nicknamed the Devil. When one of her best friends claims she saw Calvin with a dead body in his trunk, Delta and her friends set off on a road trip adventure to investigate. This starts a chain reaction of mishaps that keep Delta on her toes. As she watches her son grow up, Delta's life takes a surprising turn as wacky adventures are around every corner.

Delta has a very upbeat personality and is always finding her way into trouble, from presumed murders to getting trapped in a ballroom overnight. She's sassy with a fun sense of humor, and a certain amount of chaos in her life that has a slight sitcom feel to it. It's a series of mishaps that get more delightful with every turn. The characters are warm and endearing, full of a funny quirkiness that lights up every scene. They're the kind of people you'd want to be friends with, in a town you wish you could visit. Tolar Miles strikes the perfect balance of wackiness, humor, and life, with a lot of heart along the way.

I found the different threads intriguing as Delta's life is balanced out by her loved ones around her. For instance, when Delta and her friends are off chasing a potential murder mystery, her son is hunting for fairies and leprechauns, which sort of makes you question if they're not also running on their imaginations. Miles has a charming way of making even crazy mishaps seem grounded and fitting perfectly into Delta's life. Delta is a lovely story with emotion, humor, and follows a sweet journey in life that gets more charming with each page.
