As luck would have it (or, or NOT have it?) the word phrase that's brought me some of the most traffic to my website is "Word Cloud"

I do love word clouds and I think this is my best example of how powerful they can be.  Data via +SEMrush

Did you work in with start-ups in the tech sector over the last 15 years?  If so, do you think the hysteria over today's digital tech world is dangerous for it's lack of perspective on the many other disruptive changes that occured before the 2010's?  Please share you feedback here or on my website.

This article has gotten tons of aclaim and you should read it if you work in tech or digital media.  But it also bothers me and reminds me what I dislike about the tech work world.  Why do so many people in their 20s and early 30s think they are living at a time that is so historically extrardaniary?

The author makes scant mention of the burning hot "dotcom" world of 2000.  I was there in the middle.  I am here in the middel, working at +SEMrush and I think Web 1.0 was actually MORE exciting.

When I was in the middle of the Web 1.0 age, I was careful not to say "this is so cool, and innovation of the 1900s was not."  Yes, it was a revolution like no other in technology.  But I read up as others did before saying this.

To think the euphoria and crazy VC money behind tech start-ups today is completely earth-shatteringly new is ignorant.

Read up on the the dotcom era if you're younger.  It was an equally "discuptive" time. Unfortunately, it ended in an  implosion.  Let's hope the currenty flow of capital to 24 year olds with no managment experience doesn't end the same way.  The similarities are beginning to scare me.

What an amazing graph.  I didn't realize this is where the players stand.  These are the companies I expect to work most with ove the next decade.

I do data, very big data, for analysis of Web search
Introduction

I help organizations leverage the SEMrush industry leading database of 95,000,000+ keywords and 48,000,000+ domains for competitive analysis. I work with the best known Internet companies, Fortune 500s, and other organizations looking to maximize their SEO and SEM budgets.

Does data sound desirable? Our API intriguing? Integration anyone? Please reach out to me at SEMrush about integrations or custom reports.

I publish a large resouces about the intersection of SEO and Social Media, Tweet Philadelphia.

ClickStream Marketing, Inc. was an Interactive agency I owned and ran for three years.  It employed 15 people.

I worked for two dotcom companies before the speculators killed the Web, temporarily, in 2000: Delphi.com and Smartage.com.

I've been a serious photographer since 1993.  My website, Border Crossing, was on the Web in one incarnation or another since 1995 (on its current domain since 1996).  I've sold my prints on a limited basis.

I was at the one down by the Graduate Hospital, and it's full of grad students and others working. If that's your thing, it's perfect. I hear the one at this location tends to have more "teachers."

Hand's down the best place to buy quality clothes at a steep discount. Don't expect to find everything. Go in and look in all major sections. I haven't seen a comparable store in Boston, NYC, Chicago. I have no idea about the women's section.

This is what it's all about. This is the "cheers" of coffee houses in Philly-- but geared towards people that want to be out-and about while doing work. Great employees, great energy with all the smart people all around. So many like me call this their second home. You can find me here working on a laptop for a couple hours, four days a week.
