Dr. Jason Ravitz, from Google, and Dr. David Fetterman, Fetterman & Associates, co- taught the first part of an empowerment evaluation course at Pacifica Graduate Institute. It had a tech focus, using Google docs, sheets, and forms. In addition Dr. Ravitz co-taught remotely using Google Hangouts. The next session will demonstrate the use of online surveys, blogs, and infographics, in addition to empowerment evaluation.

I was interviewed on the Empire Radio Network. They asked about evaluation, including empowerment evaluation. I mentioned a few of my projects, including my work with Google (with Jason Ravitz) and Hewlett-Packard. I also described how my team is using empowerment evaluation at the Recovery Cafe (a peer assisted program for homeless and substance abuse populations in Seattle). I also had a chance to talk about my 12th year working with tobacco prevention programs in Arkansas. I concluded my interview by mentioning how my mom is an inspiration and role model. The interview is about 8 minutes long: http://www.davidfetterman.com/Dr_David_Fetterman_3_06_17.mp3

This is the Computer Science Outcomes Networked Improvement Community's empowerment evaluation working group. The learning community of computer science education evaluators and STEM evaluators came together to create a common agenda for the future. This exercise highlights the groups' efforts to establish a 1) mission, 2) take stock or assess their efforts to-date, and 3) plan for the future. Kathy Haynie and Tom McKlin are responsible for the CSONIC effort. David Fetterman and Jason Ravitz facilitated the empowerment evaluation exercise.
