My wife and I drove up to Baltimore to meet a friend for brunch. She recommended Miss Shirley's Cafe as one of the best brunches in Baltimore. This location is right on the inner harbor giving you a beautiful view if you sit outside. Since we went at 10AM on a Saturday, we had a 30 minute wait. Once we were seated, the waiters were very attentive and it did not take too long for us to get our food. The menu is HUGE so ask your waiter what s/he recommends. My wife ordered the shrimp and grits and loved it. I had the southern slammer sandwich and it was so good (get the grits and bacon as your side!). If you are in Baltimore, definitely go here for brunch!

The food here is very good and they make a damn good bloody mary, but the wait is killer. I also did not care for the atmosphere (you're basically eating in the lobby of an office building). The prices are decent, especially for the plate sizes, and they have a good range of breakfast styles available for order.

Ate brunch here and it was pretty delish ordering the crab cake & fried green tomatoes benedict which was very tasty as well as the pancakes. The food tasted pretty authentic, service was good really nice waitress, but it was super busy. I would def recommend

Any southern-seeking foodies who have been to Colorado are probably more than familiar with Lucile's, and I think it's safe to say that this place is the Lucile's of the East's why: 1 - Menu selections = pure genius. I feel like a bunch of people were at Bonnaroo conjuring up the awesome breakfast and lunch dishes here. Let me take some passages from Miss Shirley's menu: "Blackened Salmon Benedict - Poached eggs & blackened salmon on corn bread squares, sweet potato and andouille sausage hash with Cajun hollandaise sauce dusted with Cajun spice" "Shirley's affair with Oscar - 6oz flat iron steak topped w/ asparagus, crab meat & hollandaise sauce, over fried green tomatoes and grits w/ diced bacon dusted with Old Bay." (this one was voted as Food Network's "Best Breakfast Dish in Maryland") Needless to say, both of the above were as delicious as they were described! Fish and steak were moist and juicy, cornbread and grits hearty, and the combination of the diced sweet potatoes and andouille sausage made for a perfectly balanced sweet-spicy hash! 2 - Portion sizes = massive. The prices may turn off some people, but believe me, you get what you pay for, so expect a lot of nicely-plated food to devour! I ordered the Blackened Salmon Benedict (above), and despite never eating a full salmon filet for BREAKFAST, this dish was spectacular! 3 - Awesome service & decor. Our waiter (Julian) was nice as can be, patient, and didn't hesitate to offer his personal recommendations. Long after we had finished eating, the waiter was on-hand to top off my coffee, even offering me a 16-oz to-go cup with lid, so we could head out and conquer some more of the Baltimore's Inner Harbor with plenty of liquid fuel in hand. This Miss Shirley's location (one of three) is situated in a modern office building, but despite the new fixtures and booths inside, they still managed to maintain an "old school" look by scattering vintage Baltimore / Orioles / harbor pics throughout. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking to cram two meals' worth of tasty southern breakfast/lunch in one sitting!

Asked for a recommendation to the waitress and i was recommended the "Crab Cake & Fried Green Tomato Eggs Benedict" and did not notice it hadn't a price on their menu, but since most of the things were 13$ - 16$ I thought it was ok. Nope! It came out to be 25$! Definitely not worth the price and I felt cheated.

Can't say enough good things about this place! I'm a foodie and this is one of my top 5 places for breakfast and brunch in the Baltimore, DC area.

I was not impressed at all, the prices were too high, the service was standoffish and the plate was not appealing to the eye. The hashbrowns with the burger(fries not on the menu)were not good at all. The best part of the plate was the pickle. What appeared to be management stood around staring at us, wait staff had to be found for further service and corrections... No need to return or recommend here.
