"Sugar" gets too much of a bad rap from many alternative health guys. In its basic form sugar is essential for life and everything you eat is ultimately broken down into sugar in your body. Human breast milk is some of the sugariest milk produced by any mammal. So the "no sugar" thing needs to be carefully quantified and qualified. Masses of refined table sugar is probably not such a good idea. But sugar immoderation is fine, especially of it comes in the form of honey or fruit or organic cookies :-). And sugar, even in excess, is better than aspartame any day.
