If you follow me here, please consider following me at my new Google+ address: https://plus.google.com/109216881757385273523. Google today opened Google+ to all Google Apps users, and the "new me" (kind of a strange development here) is from my work account at Forge Communications.

"Shrinkage! Shrinkage!"

Okay, now that everyone's paying attention, here's a great column on leadership that has its roots in the George Constanza approach to the world.

So has Google explained why it's taking so long to roll #Google+ out for #GoogleApps users? Talk about losing valuable momentum...

Own a local business or serve as counsel to one? You better read this...

#the5: Even bigger deal (huge, really): Google Adwords will take proximity into account for search ads: http://bit.ly/nYCPfI

This is a big, big, BIG deal. Every local business owner that you know should read this and if they don't, smack them until they do.

This year's Darwin Award winner in the "Best Performance by a Family" category.

How do you find your way through a corn maze? Call 911. At least that was the approach taken by a Massachusetts family Tuesday after they lost their way amidst seven acres of nine-foot corn stalks...

Story
Introduction
I began my consulting career in 1985 when I joined Epley Associates, Inc., one of the Southeast’s leading public relations firms. Over the years, I've managed a wide array of strategic communication programs for a broad range of regional, national and international clients across dozens of industries.

Before co-founding Forge Communications in late 2009, I served as vice president and senior vice president of client services at Epley Associates, Inc. and The Catevo Group. My specialties include strategic planning, executive counsel, reputation management, crisis communications, issue management, media relations and spokesperson training.

A past visiting instructor in the Department of Communication Studies at North Carolina State University, I am a frequent guest speaker at local and national conferences and forums. I earned master's and bachelor's degrees in speech communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and am a rabid Tar Heel fan during basketball season. Active in the community, I'm a steering committee member of and counsel to the Regional Transportation Alliance and have served on the boards of many other local and state organizations. An accredited member of PRSA, I serve on the Executive Committee of the Counselors Academy of PRSA and am past president of the Raleigh Public Relations Society.

A professional guitarist, I perform regularly around the Triangle and have released two CDs.  In addition, I'm a father, husband, cook, gym rat and music geek. To listen to some of my original music, visit:  http://www.forgecommunications.com and find me on the Leadership page.
