Interesting lunchtime read on promo codes at checkout #ecommerce
Kill the promo code box. Imagine you're out shopping and you pick up something you want to buy. You take it to the till and just before you hand over your credit card, the shop assistant says "this is cheaper if you know the secret password". But you don't know the secret password.

Should #SEO's use the link disavow tool without having a manual penalty? Matt Cutts says yes, and so do I!

Nexus 5 General  -

I recently took my Nexus 5 to Germany on a weekend trip (I’m from UK) and could not at all connect to a network, or internet access. So I couldn't make any phone calls or SMS through hangouts. Am I missing a setting or something? Advice appreciated!

you should also let your carrier know that you are traveling, so they can set you up accordingly.

For those that are wondering why I'm always droning on about bricks and dust, this is the state of my kitchen right now > #homeimprovement
This weekend, the extension was officially declared as sealed, confirmed by the fact that the kitchen wall came down once and for all! It had been partly demolished as the roof beams went in earlie...

Easily the best Mothercare in Manchester – particularly for shopping with the kids. Huge variety of products and lots of helpful staff available for questions. It’s also a much better shopping experience for children because of the play area, reading seats, areas for testing toys and huge tree in the middle of the store for a bit of adventure, so really helps parents to shop easier.

Ring ahead to see what facilities are available for each department! For example, the beauty department is fab and has more than enough saleswomen to assist you. Then again, I recently visited for some advice on nursery furniture and prams, and after half an hour still couldn’t find anyone to assist me, which was frustrating. Saying that, it’s a huge store, with lots of variety but some areas need more staff to provide a more helpful shopping experience.

A hidden gem! It’s not found on the main road (it's down a side road), but it's worth the fiddly directions. So many doors at great prices. Some have slight imperfections but others are good as new in original packaging so full of discounts and miles cheaper than your normal homeware stores. We went with oak internal doors with some slight scuffs, but these won’t be seen as soon as we add a stain onto them. Run by friendly guys too. For a worthwhile visit, take your door measurements with you.

Very slow service sadly. We were sat near the windows and felt neglected, even waiting 20 minutes for a glass of water even though there were only 4 other tables full when we visited. Very mixed on the food. I ordered the asparagus risotto which was on special and it was gorgeous. My husband ordered chicken and spinach and it was sadly a mushy mess with only a few bites of chicken and felt this was hugely overpriced for what looked like a microwave meal. If you enjoy the food, just make sure you are seated in one of the booths or near the bar, as these tables were seen to more.

Gorgeous food! I love the interior of the Wharf and on a sunny day there are lovely grassy areas to enjoy outside. In fact, you wouldn’t think it’s so close to the city it’s that peaceful. It’s a dog friendly establishment which is up to you whether you think is a bonus or not. Personally I adore dogs, but don’t want them at my feet when I go for a meal!

After renovating for 3 years, I wish I’d found these guys sooner! Not only did they do an utterly fantastic job of plastering our 2 spare bedrooms, they were punctual, well-priced and just lovely to have around, which I sadly haven’t been able to say about many builders I’ve had working on my home. Whilst they were working one day I was home sick with morning sickness. They checked to see if I was okay and if I wanted anything which I think is so thoughtful. Can’t recommend highly enough, and we will have them back for our remaining plastering jobs.

Whilst it’s not the largest Mamas & Papas I’ve been to, I think it has the best in-store range of nursery furniture I’ve visited, which is what I really wanted to see before making a purchase. Staff were always available and friendly when we needed them for advice (which was often!) but were happy to let us browse when we wanted a moment alone. Really good in-store offers too.
