+Haeley Merrill-Schroeppel the problem there is that you can get around the speed bubble by turning it off, or resetting.

So, i just setup origin on centos, using the puppet method.  Single broker/node machine for now.  But i'm having trouble finding docs on a few simple administration tasks.  Like, how the heck do i change admin's password, and how do I add more users? Any guidance would be lovely.  Thanks!

I just had the 404 error. Actually, I've setup the Jenkins package as explained in the comprehensive install, which breaks the broker. Both are listening on port 8080. chkconfig jenkins off and a reboot later, I no longer have 404 error.

Well, now I have a  401 authentication error, but it's a step forward.

On fire today, finished up another blog entry!
Some time ago, around the beginning of the year, Google and Samsung released the next Nexus phone. The Galaxy Nexus. A number of my co-workers were waiting for this thing to release, so they could get...

So so true... Turns out, monitoring the Internet and passing draconian laws is REALLY EASY.. Much easier than doing it in the physical realm. So perhaps we're seeing the true colors of government?

Does anyone else have problems getting the chat in ingress on android to keep the keyboard visible long enough to actually type something? It does this to me on both of my devices.

I don't do missions and this happens all the time. COMM sucks. Don't worry about it.

Hey fellow #ingress fans.  I wanted to try to wrap my head around some weirdness I see in the ingress client on both android and iPhone, and see if its somehow intentional, or a bug?  I commute 80 miles a day.  I carpool with another ingress player.  Which ever of us is not driving, is in the passenger seat, ingressing as we commute.  We've found several features of the game that seem broken when moving at vehicle speeds. For instance, hacking a portal as we pass it seems to grant to items, where if we stand next to the portal and hack, it works just fine.  Recharging portals on the go is also broken.  If you open up a portal using your portal key in your inventory, recharging it simply has no effect.  This all makes the one hour each way that we spend in the vehicle with not much else to do, which might be prime ingress time, both useless and sometimes quite frustrating.

Are these limitations intentional?  Perhaps to deter people from ingressing while driving?  This seems possible, and in fact responsible, but I think it could be better implemented if that is indeed the case.  Maybe simply lock-out those features at times that the client feels you shouldn't be doing them.  Or find some way to verify that you are indeed not driving before preventing you from doing these things?

Thanks!

+Caio Dias I really wish people wouldn't keep peddling that "it's a walking game" crap like it's gospel. I've lost 20kg and walked 200km since I started playing again, but I've also driven 1500km. Walking is encouraged as a healthy side effect of playing but it's entirely up to the individual how they play. Thank God this speed limit nonsense doesn't seem to be implemented in the UK (where the speed limit between most of the major cities is 112kph)... Not that I've ever tried drive-by at that speed but if I drove from here to the next city @112kph and then had to wait an hour or more for the sandbox to catch up with me before I could get started, I'd probably just stop playing again.

Some of us old timers have brought the old bbs game tele-arena back to life, and were looking for beta testers. Go play at telnet://bbs.undrground.org, and post bug reports at http://www.bbs.undrground.org/forum/ #bbs #telearena #bbsgames #oldschool
