I'm pulling together a collection of effective nonprofit infographics for an NTC workshop. Most important criteria: they should tell a story. Please post your favorites in the comments below so I can show them off at the conference!
With 24/7 internet access on smartphones and tablets, folks these days are drowning in information. As screens and attention spans shrink, so too must our content. In the past couple years, blog posts...

Thanks for flagging that Volunteer Match graphic, +Debra Askanase! AirBnB did an infographic for their annual report as well (https://www.airbnb.com/annual/), but I hadn't seen this one.

And great article. We do indeed think alike :).

A good email is part art and part science. Content is king, but design matters too, and testing is the best way to figure out what words, pictures, and layout will make 'em click.

Hope is catching--check it out.
The advocacy community has gone mad for story. But stories are only as strong as the latest retelling. While compelling characters and evocative details give our stories life, it is email subject line...

True sustainability is living with our means--economic and environmental! Right now, it would take 1.5 planet Earths to support global consumption levels. Something's gotta give, and it's not going to be mother nature.

Lester Brown of the Earth Policy Institute discusses the economic elements of sustainability, and how a market can't survive without viable natural systems.

Maybe if I were more influential, I'd be more bullish on the idea of Klout as a hiring consideration. But most organizations I know have plenty of superficial online relationships and need someone that's mastered the lost art of deep engagement..
It was bound to happen. I opened up the attachment from e-mail and there it was, impossible to miss: at the top of every page of the individual's resume was their Klout score. I have to admit, my firs...

I struggled to find my measurement groove for a while (looking for that balance between drowning in data and operating on hunches), and think I'm finally getting there. I use simple excel spreadsheets, but am curious if folks in this community are using online tools like Sumall or Sparkwise or others?).

I'm a big fan of Pinterest for nonprofits, and this article has some good tips for organizations that want to engage supporters.

Having lived in San Francisco (where my roommate was a commune kid), Berkeley, and now Portlandia, I have been exposed to more kale, Braggs, and homeopathy than you can shake a stick at. And I am a total believer in free range, low carbon, and homegrown. But I appreciate this article and author's clear-eyed assessment of the need to balance hippie ideals with modern realities.

The Obama campaign is hip. But that's not why I voted for him.
