Please chip in to support performer Amy Salloway, who’s having some really rough times...
Amy Salloway is one of the most creative, brilliant, honest, and hilarious people we know. Words like "comedy," "storytelling," and "teaching" don't fully explain what Amy does. She writes and performs from a deeply personal place that somehow includes all of us, about the struggle to feel comfor...

He is ignorant and has dangerous views completely outside the normal range. He does not merely repeat bizarre conspiracy theories that some Republicans believe (Barack Obama may have faked his birth certificate) or that most Republicans believe (scientists are faking global warming). He has own own set of strange beliefs.

My feature piece about illustrator Yuko Shimizu is live!
The Yuko Shimizu who is an illustrator, artist and teacher at the School of Visual Arts in New York City is not the Yuko Shimizu who invented Hello Kitty. Let’s get that…

In the Los Angeles neighborhood with the nation’s most densely concentrated homeless population, a doctor donning a backpack is a familiar face. Dr. Susan Partovi has repeatedly received treatment for the antibiotic-resistant infection MRSA. She often works with patients for months or even years without making headway. None of that stops her from treating her patients with dignity (and often without gloves). “She’s badass, is what she is,” another street doctor said of Partovi.
Dr. Susan Partovi works on Los Angeles's Skid Row, the most densely concentrated population of homeless people in the US. It's an ocean of staggering need.

Dr. Papp saved my life – several times! When I got out of a hospital in NJ and NO OTHER psychiatrist in NYC would see me, Dr. Papp made sure my meds were corrected and worked with me over a period of time to titrate them to to the most tolerable level. He is a level-headed professional, an excellent psychopharmacologist , and a compassionate person.
