In going back through some HDR images, I found this one that I had made last year. For some reason, it seems to be the most popular HDR image I've ever posted.
Then, last week, I learned that it spent its life not as a Frisco caboose, but rather a Burlington Northern caboose. Plus, it was green! The gent who bought it knew that it needed to be a Frisco remembrance, since the rail line had come through the middle of Tupelo, MS and Frisco was the main presence "back in the day."
This remains a good spot to make photos during a leisurely walk around the industrial part of downtown Tupelo, MS.

Today, I had the following email message sent to me by a very talented pre-Kindergarten teacher. Her school has just begun a major iPad initiative and now all classrooms in the elementary grades have iPads. The effort began by having iPads in the 4-year-old Junior Kindergarten classes. What genius!
Here's her request. I would appreciate any help (directions to links, advice, etc.).
Are there any really great sites that you are aware of that review or recommend good apps for prek or kindergarten, specifically? We have found that most sites are mostly geared above us.
40m 4-element yagi at K5TR! I've had the pleasure of working George in multiple contacts, but had not realized he had such a monster beam.
This is "epic," as they say.
High fives to George!

During the annual International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Conference in San Antonio, we Apple Distinguished Educators decided to host/lead a photo walk through portions of downtown San Antonio.
We had 172 photographers in attendance, as best we could count.
I hope you enjoy this sampling of photos. To see the Flickr group pool, go to http://tinyurl.com/iste13-pwpix

My most recent eBook, "Leading Your Own Photo Safari," published in July 2011, is a free download from http://www.nctp.com/photosafari -- and it works great in the iBooks app on your iPad or other iOS device. I am working on my 5th book now, "The Power of the Seed" -- it is about the influence we have upon each other...the seeds we plant in others' lives, as well as the powerful seeds other people have planted in ours. Watch for it. I also love woodworking, ham radio, and Harley motorcycles (actually, any brand of motorcycle that's not a crotch rocket...and I don't do the offroad stuff.) I hope you enjoy using Google + with me.Founder/CEO, 1992 - present
