Haven't you always wondered what people eat for breakfast in Egypt? Sweden? Here's what you can expect when you stay at B&Bs in other countries (except you'll get the gourmet version at a Wisconsin B&B Association member inn of course).

Our very own The Roost B&B and the city of Appleton, WI were mentioned in a 6/4/14 Huffington Post article "6 Small Towns to Visit This Summer". The Roost B&B was chosen as the "Hotel favorite" in Appleton. Check out the article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/claire-gallam/6-small-towns-to-visit-th_b_5437944.html

Father's day is right around the corner! Here's an idea for something Dad would appreciate: A Microbrewery Tour + Tasting! What guy doesn't like a smooth, tasty microbrew and the opportunity to sample multiple brews in one place? We have put together a map that locates all microbreweries within a 30 mile radius of a B&B, to maximize the number of facilities that guests can visit. B&B + Beer =one happy Dad

Looking for a B&B that's geared toward business travel and at the same time relaxing? We suggest the contemporary At The Lake House in beautiful Lake Geneva. This is what innkeeper Mary King had to say about the options they have to offer business travelers:

"Enjoy some quality brainstorming with your corporate heads while At The Lake House! Corporate guests can utilize either the first floor great room, (seating for 6 to 10) or the tree house great room (seating for 4 to 6 )for small group meetings. Guests have access to our wi-fi, fax and printer. Fresh-brewed coffee, ice tea and lemonade are also provided. Cook your lunch on one of our webber grills or take a short walk to our neighborhood pub and enjoy one of their many specials. All guest rooms over look the lake and have out door seating on either a patio or balcony, private spa suites from steam shower to heated bubblier tubs with showers, flat screen TVs, and desks, so feel free to spread out and get some work done. At The Lake House is set up very nicely for small corporate retreats. End your productive day of brain storming with a round of golf at one of the many near by champion courses or inquire about a boat trip to a great steak house just across the lake. For business travelers looking to stay in shape while on the road, guests can enjoy a lakeside run or walk or a swim at our association beach.

You won’t miss out on the made-from-scratch breakfasts At The Lake House, even if you have to be on the road at dawn. Just ask for a breakfast-to-go and we will be happy to oblige. With two fully equipped kitchens and outside grills, you can entertain clients on-site while enjoying the relaxing views of the sun setting against the lake. You may wish to hire one of our local chefs to prepare a gourmet dinner for you and your clients. The Main Dining room can seat 8 comfortably."

Besides providing top-notch accommodations, Wisconsin B&B Association members are fantastic cooks! We love the fact that this recipe from Inn on Hillwind, Plymouth WI can be prepared the night before and baked in the morning, allowing you to get your beauty sleep!

BAKED APPLE FRENCH TOAST (from WBBA cookbook pg. 232)

1 loaf French bread, cut in cubes
1 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese, cut in cubes
2 cups apples, peeled and diced
1 tsp cinnamon
4 Tbsp butter, melted
6 eggs
½ pint heavy cream
2 cups milk
¼ cup maple syrup, plus extra to serve

Preheat oven to 325°F. Coat a 9x13-inch pan with cooking spray. Arrange half of the bread in bottom of the pan. Sprinkle the cream cheese over the bread. Top with apples. Sprinkle cinnamon on top. Pour melted butter over bread and apples. Top with remaining bread. In a large bowl, beat together eggs, cream, milk and syrup. Pour over bread mixture. Press bread down so all pieces are soaked. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight). Bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Serve with warm maple syrup.
Variations: Drizzle with caramel sauce and top with whipped cream.
Yield: 6–8 servings
