This is a small storefront restaurant. It has a small, nice bar but the table area is dark and needs updating. We enjoyed the drinks - dark beer and Riesling - but sadly the food (Wienerschnitzel and Sauerbraten) was VERY bad. The tiny German salad was inadequate with cucumber slices that were soft and apparently old. The only bread offered was thinly sliced and apparently rationed. When we asked for more, we got two slices on a small plate from a surly busboy. I was terribly disappointed and will not buy restaurant vouchers from Amazon Local again.

You need to read my whole review. We went to this restaurant to celebrate an event for my son. He loves German food. We got there and got a table right away. We sat at the table without even water for over half an hour before the waitress came. There was only one waitress and one busboy for the whole place. We thought they were just short of staff so we didn't complain. We placed our order and a few minutes later got our one piece of bread each and soup. It tasted Just OK. We waited another 50 minutes for our food to finally come. My $18 salmon was cold and tasted terrible. The vegetables it came with were the frozen mixed veggies you get in a generic bag. I didn't complain. I just decided we wouldn't come back. My kids thought their $18 meals were boring. My husband ordered the "all you can eat pig roast". He got one plate and asked for more. Fifteen minutes later they came out and said they did not have anymore. I waited for the bill and they charged us the full amount for the food. I went up to the front and asked to speak to the manager. The waitress said I could talk to her. I told her very politely how I was disappointed with my meal, the service and the shortage of food. She got very rude and went back to speak very loudly with someone in the back about how we wanted to eat for free and how I should have returned my food. They took off my husbands meal and basically yelled at me that I should have returned my food if I didn't like it. What a horrible experience!

I had a very nce time there. I was waited on by the owner. She was a little "German" to begin with then after speaking to her for a bit she was very nice. The food was cooked by her daughter, which tasted very good. I had her come out & thanked her for the meal. The beer selection was excellet for my taste, & I have been back 2 more times after that. I don't live in the area or I would have be back even more!

My family visited this place. We experienced rude service. We were mistreated and yelled on; our kids were scared and crying. Food was very bad, not seasoned overcooked and definitely not fresh. F minus food for the first class restaurant price. Place is dark and very dirty, serving dirty silver wear. Never again.

Being totally unfamiliar with German food, the owner's German-speaking mother was very helpful in explaining the menu and authentic imported beers, as well as helping me choose what to order. I ordered carry-out, and was unable to try the beers, but enjoyed the cozy atmosphere while I waited for my order. I'll be back! In response to complaints on the food's "freshness" or service from the German staff, I suggest you update your expectations for true traditional German food, and take the German accent into account before you judge service. This isn't Americanized at all. I doubt you could get a more authentic experience without traveling to Germany! The food was delicious, and the owner's mother was amazingly helpful!
