This unbelievable picture has us in awe!
Above the Bay, 1935

We're simply blown away by this photo of the Golden Gate Bridge under construction in 1935. The 4,200-foot long suspension span of the bridge was the longest span in the world until 1964, when the Verrazano Narrows Bridge opened in NYC.

Like the city of San Francisco, Jasper’s Corner Tap & Kitchen is a social setting—a central gathering place.  It's a place for people to meet up and unwind over good food, beer, wine, and cocktails.  Located just blocks from Union Square, and with a close proximity to both the Theater district and the vibrant and up and coming Tenderloin, Jasper’s Corner Tap & Kitchen is a great setting for the menu of upscale tavern inspired fare and extensive beer selection.Jasper's Corner Tap and Kitchen

I get the fact that this place is in a touristy and business travel friendly part of town but the prices are obscene. For what you get it is borderline obnoxious. I get the fact that they are not catering to my demographic but that of the business jetsetter with a penchant for good whiskey and a TGI McFunsters kind of vibe. Some coworkers and I came here before a show at GAMH and while some of the food was good, I don't think I will be back. The crispy piggy and the salmon tartare were pretty good but the soft pretzel, the riblettes and the chicken just seemed over seasoned and half-assed. They pride themselves on being a corner tap and whiskey bar and while they have a great selection of whiskeys and other liquors this place is just kind of boring.

Great, creative cocktails and delicious food! Their deviled eggs, grilled cheese and mac n cheese are particularly amazing. The atmosphere was pretty relaxed, but busy. Perfect for after work (although no happy hour deals)

Had the best burger I have ever eaten. Cooked perfectly medium rare, fantastic brioche bun and English blue cheese. Loved it! I'm English and not prone to hyperbole. Also had the pickled veg on the side which were very nice too. Well stocked bar with a great range of beers esp IPAs.

This is such a cool spot! I learned about Jasper's through the Avital Tours Union Square Cocktail Tour. They have some amazing and unique mixed drinks ON TAP! They can also serve their drinks by the bottle which makes accommodating a large group much more efficient. Their food is also tasty, from pickled veggies to deviled eggs and french fries. A great stop after work or when you're looking for a quick bite to eat and a good drink.

I love a great cocktail. However, I sometimes go out with friends who really don't drink. Jasper's is great for everyone. I can get a great cocktail made by a craftsman. They have my favorite classics, contemporary cocktails, and reinvented standards. My non-drinking friends are more than pleased by Jasper's upscaled gourmet versions of traditional pub grub. Their desserts are worth the trip on their own.

Five stars for grabbing a drink and a bite at the bar before a show at the Curran or ACT. Have some deviled eggs and/or a pretzel if you're after a snack, maybe a J Burger or the excellent tomato Panzanella that I hope will be back this summer for a heartier meal. It's a simple but nicely designed space, no frills here, but the real reason to come in is for a stellar cocktail. The menu changes seasonally and there's always something exciting offered. I am a diehard Negroni fan so it's hard not to love a place who serves my favorite drink on tap. They also do very interesting bottled cocktails, my favorite was last fall when they roasted peaches and mixed them with bourbon and pomegranate molasses. So crazy good. The bartenders are friendly and keep things flowing smoothly whether is a quiet evening or the bar is full of conference attendees. If you make a reservation you'll get a table in the dining room. Two of my three experiences with that (I've popped in for bar seats at least a dozen times) have not gone quite right. I've made it clear at the start of those meals that we have theater tickets and somehow that has jinxed us twice, with our meals coming out late, having to rush and beg for the check. It's always worked out in the end but it's odd considering how well everything has gone at the bar. So my dining room experience might be more like three or four stars.
