One of the 5 best hot chocolate in New York City by CBS

"There’s something about cinnamon. OK, so maybe that line sounds like something Seinfeld would say, but that doesn't make it any less true. Cocoa Bar specializes in, well, products made with cocoa, including chocolate both hot and not. Here, though, you can go beyond, way beyond, the standard classic version and try one spiced with cinnamon. It evokes late fall, when winter is in the air, but it hasn’t snowed yet, when the air is crisp and full of promise."

I absolutely loved this place. It's one of those "hole in the walls" that's got real personality. It has a romantic potential as well. I've never been to a coffee shop that serves wine, and their wines are VERY good. I will be coming here more often.

a coffee shop that turns into a wine bar at night. more specifically, they're a coffee shop that serves wine. it's not fancy, but seems like a good laid-back place to meet up with friends and grab a bite to eat before heading out to another bar in the neighborhood.

Kind of expensive. The staff was not friendly.

Good food, but overpriced and took three tries to pick something from the menu they actually had in stock.

After a decade (really) of passing by, I finally stopped in for happy hour to try a chocolate with a glass of wine with a friend. I expected it to be a cafe that flipped into a darker bar in the evening, but at 6pm, this was not the case. It is very much a coffee shop, with little seating areas and a small bar towards the back. I attempted to replace dinner with a red velvet cake but was not impressed but did enjoy the riesling recommended by one of the staffers, at the cheap happy hour price of $5. All in all, I'd only return because they have such a huge chocolate and baked goods selection with cheap pricing, but it all boiled down to the fantastic and friendly service.

Way too expensive for coffee and chocolate. May be good, but do NOT expect to have anything reasonably priced.

If you consider yourself a chocolate lover, don't get the cocoa bars. Mediocre quality at best.
