Nice serene place to absorb and observe the arts. Multicultural arts displays. Everyone, local or visitor, should come to this museum several times a year to cultivate a love for the arts. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I went on a weekday morning and the place was almost empty until the afternoon. Free lockers for your belongings is very convenient. Be sure to get a map because the layout is a labyrinth and easy to go in circles. Signage could be a little better. Museum is free to public on first Wednesday of every month. Also the 3rd Sunday is Bank of Hawaii's family day and is free also. Exhibits change regularly.

Wide range of art in beautiful setting with interesting special exhibits. Not too expensive at 10$.

a collection to be proud of, including an original paul gauguin, james michner's fabulous collection of japanese woodcuts, and other masterworks you wouldn't expect to find in the middle of the pacific. always well-curated exhibits.

one sunday per month is a family day sponsered by a bank. so you can get in for free. however if you don't like noisy children, then don't go that day. the building itself is great architecture and there is an authenic japanese style house on the grounds.

honolulu academy of arts- is very beautiful. the collection of art is not remarkable, but architecture, atmosphere, and live performances are excellent. bookshop is great for gifts. restaurant is surprisingly affordable and food is gourmet. servers are kind. a stroll through grounds or just resting here is best for absorbing artsy feeling.
