Hallo zusammen,

Vielen lieben Dank,
Marcus

I have never met a Farang who is fluent in Chinese.  However, I have met people born in China who are fluent in English.
Take the Taiwan DaKao, for entrance into TaiDa or ZhengDa, and then we will see if you are as hot as you say you are.
But, i am sure you are not.
I also do not think that you know much about designing and conducting linguistic studies, or you would realize that it is not the study which is difficult, but the funding.
There are now over 13 or 14 theories concerning which are the most effective strategies for adults to learn a second or third language.  But since they are all conflicting, then most of them are wrong.  Or, probably all of them are wrong.
We do need to spend the money to research this field further.
But your musings about what you think is the most effective strategy is not helpful.  It does harm by steering people in the wrong direction.
Why not tell us about what is right and wrong with the strategies used at Middlebury or Cornell, or Seton Hall, for example.
Instead of spouting extraneous nonsense.
I mean, do you not wish to have a more academic conversation which might actually mean something?

It's free only for people whose reputation has no value. It's free only if your followers don't care what you say. It's free only as much as your credibility is already zero, and people don't expect honesty from you.

This is free if you aren't worth listening to. This is free only for losers.

Schon immer gedacht SEO sei reine Magie? ;-))

I am living in Beijing since 12 months always trying to pick up chinese language by myself and using some books and online courses. Since 4 weeks now I am taking private lessons twice a week from a teacher of LTL Live the Language in Mandarin-Chinese. It is a lot more effective to keep up the challenging speed the teacher is putting on me (while she says there are students she need to go slower with). That already shows that the teachers perfectly fit the learning material and learning speed on the students needs. While I find the speed challenging I do not have the feeling it is going too fast --- actually I want to learn fast to be very soon a fluent speaker. Very good about my private lessons with LTL Chinese school here in Beijing is that we do not stick to the book too much (although we use it most of the time) ... but Mia (my teacher's English name) extends the vocabulary given by the book with useful other words that I can use in everyday life and I can always ask her questions about situations in job so I'll be able to answer or understand better next time I face similar situations. All in all - I am very satisfied!
