I think I'll take a look and get involved - Blender is a flagship FLOSS product!
Does anyone want to help the awesome Blender Institute with their new website?

After many months of constant development, the Debian project is proud to present its new stable version 7.0 (code name Wheezy).

This new version of Debian includes various interesting features such as multiarch support, several specific tools to deploy private clouds, an improved installer, and a complete set of multimedia codecs and front-ends which remove the need for third-party repositories.

Looks like a great little Mac app for reading reference books. Could never read a novel on a laptop, but for "look-up-able" things, this fits the bill

Today I learnt of an interactive "edu-game" for primary (age 5-11) children called Myst that's had great results with ability in English.

It looks amazing - really great graphics, and engages children from the start. As they travel through a mystical world on the whiteboard, they're writing descriptively about what they come across.

Multi-sensory, works in groups, and fun - great ingredients for learning. The upsetting thing is I could just hear some of the teachers calling it a game - saving it for "non-learning time" such as the last day of term, or plain not bothering.

Me? I'm going to push this big time.

Is anybody shocked? The US Government is crawling with these corporate wannabees. #RonPaul made a big deal about this last summer. I think I can make my own decisions about my milk.

Example of #Monsanto in Washington position

Chief Agricultural Negotiator appointed by Obama
Siddiqui is a pesticide lobbyist and Vice President for Science and Regulatory Affairs at CropLife America, an agribusiness lobbying group that represents Monsanto.

This is one example of many that both parties are guilty of putting them in positions of power.

Why was MegaUpload really shut down?

In December of 2011, just weeks before the takedown, Digital Music News reported on something new that the creators of #Megaupload were about to unroll. Something that would rock the music industry to its core. (http://goo.gl/A7wUZ)

I present to you... MegaBox. MegaBox was going to be an alternative music store that was entirely cloud-based and offered artists a better money-making opportunity than they would get with any record label.

"UMG knows that we are going to compete with them via our own music venture called Megabox.com, a site that will soon allow artists to sell their creations directly to consumers while allowing artists to keep 90 percent of earnings," MegaUpload founder Kim 'Dotcom' Schmitz told Torrentfreak

Not only did they plan on allowing artists to keep 90% of their earnings on songs that they sold, they wanted to pay them for songs they let users download for free.

"We have a solution called the Megakey that will allow artists to earn income from users who download music for free," Dotcom outlined. "Yes that's right, we will pay artists even for free downloads. The Megakey business model has been tested with over a million users and it works."
