We should have listened to past reviewers who suggested this restaurant wasn't up to the prices it was charging. We were coming from Manhattan and arrived about an hour early for a seven o'clock reservation. When we got there we were offered to wait by the door, but asked to wait at the bar instead. After sitting there for fifteen minutes without a server we finally had to flag someone down to order drinks. The rest of the evening followed a similar pattern with slow or inattentive service. The food itself was alright, though nothing particularly creative for the price. I wouldn't go back here or recommend it to a friend.

As I was seated I noticed that my plate was dirty and reached for two more (both dirty). The host collected all 4 from the able and brought new ones. chowder and my swordfish were average and over priced. Lastly, they even charged the wrong table to my credit card.

I hate fish but love it at Mitchells because the staff always guides me to great selections that aren't fishy tasting or have a mushy texture. Everything is reasonably priced and the staff take such good care of you which is sooo nice these days. We have been giving gift cards to Mitchells to our friends and now they are becoming fans!

My mother and I had dessert tonight, and ordered the infamous carrot cake. It was larger than large! We brought half of it home. It wasn't the best frosting, but the cake itself was good.

We've been to this restaurant three times now. The first time we had to send a meal back because it was overdone. The second time we had simple meals, oysters and I had beer battered fish, hard to mess up. Tonight my wife had the tuna and I had the Fresh Fish Trio. The scallops were great, the tilapia was ridiculously salty, and the salmon was bland. I spoke with the manager, and they redid my meal. The tilapia was fine (nothing special) and the salmon was too salty this time. My wife's meal (Tuna) lacked any flavor or character, poorly cooked and the rice was dry and sticky. Spending that kinda money and having to return things is embarrassing for the company. That's just the food. The service tonight was awful. Our waitress came to our table once, didn't even bring us the glass of water I asked for. I overheard another table threatening to leave because the server was so bad. They comped my meal in the end, but not my wife's (even though she left 80% of it on the plate). Aside from their Oysters, I'll never go there again. Strictly an appetizer place from now on.

We had a fantastic meal at Mitchell's, and the Carrot Cake is to die for! We loved Mitchell's in Sandestin, so we knew we were in for a great meal, and it exceeded our expectations. Always clean, great service, food is exceptional!
