A Purdue Veterinary Medicine faculty member and a Veterinary Technology Program staff member were honored Saturday, May 14, during the PVM Oath Ceremony, when they received awards for outstanding teaching. Dr. Jim Weisman (PU DVM ’97), received the Weedon Faculty Recognition Award, and Pam Phegley, RVT (AS-VT ’83, BS-VT 2001) was presented with the Elanco Veterinary Technology Outstanding Teaching Award.

Fiona, a Sheltie from Tennessee, is a multiple national title holder in canine agility. Her owner, Nick Sparks, is an active judge in agility and has given seminars on the best ways to run and compete in the sport. Both Nick and Fiona have hosted a national TV show on canine agility. However, Fiona’s career nearly had to be put on hold.
