"The Fourth Industrial Revolution is transforming the type of work people do, and how it is done. While 4IR offers new opportunities, many of today’s 1.8 billion youth worldwide youth stand to be left behind. To address this issue, Deloitte and the Global Business Coalition for Education have co-authored a new research study, which examines the skills young people will need in the future, and recommends solutions for business to help them succeed." https://www2.deloitte.com/global/en/pages/about-deloitte/articles/gx-preparing-tomorrow-workforce-for-the-fourth-industrial-revolution.html?id=gx:2sm:3tw:4GBCed2018::6abt:20180923191000:SocialImpact-Report&utm_source=tw&utm_campaign=GBCed2018&utm_content=abt&utm_medium=social&linkId=57073155

"Complacency must be avoided as we learn valuable lessons about genuine flexibility, and what “safe” looks like, from disability entrepreneurs. As technology continues to take us places we never expected there are so many options arising for workplaces of the future and how they might operate. Flexibility has a long way to go and it means a lot more than just “working from home”." https://disabilityleadershipinstitute.wordpress.com/2018/08/25/hostile-environments/

"For people with disability, employment means access to the personal, social and financial benefits of work. For your business, it means an increase in diversity, a boost in morale, and a fresh perspective you may not have considered. There are a huge number of people with disability who are willing to, and capable of being involved in the workforce. All they are waiting for is the chance." https://www.hcamag.com/hr-news/hr-managers-leading-the-way-in-disability-employment-254881.aspx#.W6B1h-OCcHU.twitter

"The program has been going for 18 months, and 12 people who have autism are currently employed by the company. "It's one of the first programs for people on the spectrum that has involved harnessing skills that might involve an empathy with animals, as opposed to numbers and pure IT. From that point of view, it is a world first and there's been a lot of things that we have had to learn through that journey."" http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-09-07/autistic-adults-find-work-in-agricultural-careers/10214036

"We often tell children to pursue their passions and dreams. But as adults we can lose sight of our own dreams as bigger responsibilities take over. Gwyn Perkins recently became an award-winning children's author at the age of 76 and Joanna Maxwell is the author of 'Rethink your career in your 40s, 50s and 60s'." http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/lifematters/late-life-goals/10237106

Matthew Clarke, "an artist who identifies as having an intellectual disability has won the poster design competition for next year’s Adelaide Fringe with a self-portrait which depicts him as a Fringe performer. ...The fact the winner is an artist with a disability complemented the Fringe’s growing number of initiatives to improve the festival’s accessibility and inclusivity." https://www.news.com.au/national/south-australia/poster-artist-matthew-clarke-brings-disability-in-from-the-fringe-with-his-winning-design-for-2019/news-story/db676968acb2f2fb40ed363b545fc8db

"Dr Anderson from the Black Dog Institute urged people not to try to weather anxiety disorders alone. "It's important to remember that anxiety disorders are common and can be severe and impairing," she said. "If, despite your best efforts, anxiety is interfering with your life or your relationships, then it's important to get help. There are many effective treatments available so don't delay — speak to your GP and or your mental health professional."" http://www.abc.net.au/news/health/2018-08-26/anxiety-harnessing-its-power-for-good-sarah-wilson-matt-haig/10152392

"Communication access in any environment paves the way for people with communication disability to engage, interact, and take part – to be involved in whatever is going on. It’s just as important as physical access for people who have a physical disability. Next time you meet someone with a communication disability, find out how they get their message across, and try having a conversation." https://theconversation.com/we-can-all-help-to-improve-communication-for-people-with-disabilities-101199
