Illinois farm Bureau adopted a resolution in support of UAV usage. This will be put forward at the national convention I understand. The details can be found under item no. 135.

Please people if you hear another aircraft coming head for the deck..... its a matter of time and we will have a fatality.
Earlier this week a pilot from Idaho was preparing to begin a spray run through a field. Barely visible ahead of him was a small stationary object. He decided it must be a kite since a bird would not remain motionless. As he neared the object, it rapidly shot straight up.

I have some time tomorrow (6th of May at 09:00 Central)  for a 30 minute hangout if anyone is interested.

One topic I would like to discuss with the group is the difference between resolution and geopolitical accuracy and what you need to do to achieve both.

The hangout can accommodate about 10 people and we can record it for re-broadcast. First come first serve.

When you read the details of 333 exceptions the agenda starts to bleed through.

The restrictions imposed by the FAA on this Section 333 Exemption "approval" are nothing short of fucking insane!!

"• All flights must be managed by a two person team consisting of the primary operator and a “visual observer”.
• The operator must obtain a private pilots license and valid Class 3 medical certification, and the visual observer must be present and have an unobstructed line-of-sight to the UAV at all times.
• The drones must remain below the 400 foot commercial airspace ceiling.
• The drones cannot be flown within 500 feet of any person or structure.
• If operating within 500 feet of an individual, that individual must have the required level of personal protective equipment.
• Empire will be required to file a Certificate of Authorization (COA) with FAA for each and every “area” in which they operate."

United Soybean Board. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), sometimes referred to as “drones,” have found a use beyond the military. According to Rory Paul, founder and CEO of Volt Aerial Robotics, a UAV company, the sky's the limit for what these devices offer farmers. “UAVs will be very useful, ...

Is there an Index Database for agricultural applications? A lot of info on the internet, not very end-user orientated. Such a list would make sense, with the necesary types of cameras, software included. Thank you!

The more pressure we can put on the FAA for common sense rules the better. Consider signing this to support commercial operations.

Its all very messy and hard to fathom from the outside. Perhaps most of all because of just how far behind the USA is now. Of course folks should be signing the petition, they should really be pestering all their friends and their friend as well.

I have been going to Gateway ever since we moved to St Louis. If you are looking for electronic components skip Radio Shack and go strait to Gateway. Doug and the crew are great and if you are in the mood for some off the goofy banter you will leave with a smile on your face and couple of extra weird components you did not intend to purchase when your went in.
