I had multiple people ask me details about the iPhone 5, since it's already available in Japan. And since I'm an iPhone developer I must know more about this, right?

When I mention to them that this is BS, they come back with, "Well Japan is always one step ahead in cell phones, and their carriers are more advanced".

Well, guess what? No matter what you read or want to believe, Japan is not ahead of the USA. I'm gonna make fun of you publicly on Google+ without including any names. :-) They are not more technologically advanced, and no, they do not get the iPhones first.

In fact, the iPhone is designed in California by US citizens. When it goes on sale, we will be the first ones to get it. This was true for all of the previous iPhones as well.

"The iPhone went on sale in the United States on June 29, 2007, at 6:00 pm local time, while hundreds of customers lined up outside the stores nationwide. The original iPhone was made available in the UK, France, and Germany in November 2007, and Ireland and Austria in the spring of 2008."

Ha! Even parts of Europe got the iPhone before Japan. An, no, Japan didn't have more advanced touch screen cell phones already. If they had superior phones, they would be selling it to us!

These rumors are probably spread by idiots like the one in the following youtube video:
iPhone 5 Released in Japan !!

The total amount of gold mined since the beginning of civilization would fit into a crate of 20 meters cubed. So a cube that's just 66 ft on one side.

That seems like a very small amount of gold considering it's everywhere. Used in electronics, jewelry, coins...etc.

Up is the new down, and left is the new right. If you have a lion you probably know what I'm talking about.
