The community garden produced almost 2,000 pounds of food this year, which helped benefit local food banks. This year’s bountiful haul included watermelon, zucchini, tomatoes and potatoes, and was planted by Goshen Health and Goshen Middle School’s seventh-grade science class. “We grew about 1,100 pounds last year. The goal is to have people eat fresh produce so they eat less packaged foods,” said Sara Stalter, director of food and nutrition services at Goshen Health.
