Fine dining at its best! I'm not a fish louder, so the braised short ribs had my vote. My husband ordered the special catch of the day...he devoured it quickly. A little loud environment wise, but still fun!

Appetizers were fantastic but the filet was the very disappointing. Very over cooked and very over priced!

We have been staying at the Waikoloa Village Hilton for the past week and Roy's restaurant came very highly recommended by one of our close family friends. On our first night in Waikoloa Village Hilton we stopped by Roy's for some late night appetizers and drinks and had an exceptional experience we will remember and cherish. We did not have a reservation but the hostess (named Ro) who promptly greeted us was more than happy to offer a choice of a table for two in the dining room or a couple of seats at the bar. We chose the bar since we only planned on having a quick appetizer with a couple drinks and maybe a dessert. The bartenders (Lurch and Ryan) were extremely knowledgeable about Roy’s food and drinks. They helped us pick an appetizer and paired it with a couple of cocktails. Lurch was happy to answer our numerous questions about Waikoloa and the surrounding area while he made our drinks. We had a great chat with him during our entire Roy’s experience. The appetizers were there before we knew it and we excitedly ate every last bite quicker than we expected. They were so delicious we decided to split an entrée. Ryan recommended another dish which we ordered and he again paired it with another set of drinks based on our preferences. The entrée was as amazing as the appetizer and at that point we had to order a dessert. They kindly note on the menu that the soufflé preparation takes 30 minutes and at this point we were more than willing to wait. We ordered a soufflé and while we were waiting the manager Brian came by to ask us about our experience and we told him it had been an exceptionally warm welcome to Waikoloa which would be hard to top during our 9 day stay. He offered to take a reservation for the following week if we’d be interested and we gladly accepted and scheduled a full dinner date two days later. I won’t go into the details of our 2nd visit except to say that our expectations were exceeded yet again and our server Lei gave absolutely flawless service the entire evening. We ended up bringing friends in for late night dessert and drinks only a couple days after that and had another amazing experience. We tried two other restaurants in the area during our visit and were very disappointed. During your visit to the Waikoloa Village Hilton Roy’s is a must dine restaurant. I promise you will be making a second reservation after your first visit and wouldn’t be surprised if you ended up spending 5 out of 8 nights at their wonderful restaurant as we did during our visit! THANK YOU ROY’S! WE WILL BE BACK VERY SOON! :)

Ryan C. and the support staff (busboys) were awesome. Someone wrote in a previous review that the hostess wasn't too friendly. I concur. However; the food and service was top grade and we quickly left the unpleasant interactions at the host stand behind us. It'll run you about $150 or so for a couple for dinner on average I'd say so if you're looking for great food served by a great staff, chose Roy's.

A man named Tom Shaggy was a really great waiter! I would definitely ask for him, he was very helpful and super kind. Totally stoked to the max about Roy's!!

In my opinion, Roy's Waikoloa is by far the best restaurant in the chain. Having been visiting the Big Island for 15 years, Roy's Waikoloa consistently delivers top-quality food and has pretty good service. Recommend the seared Ahi as it's a staple at the restaurant. Additionally, hats off the dessert chef - they have the best pineapple upside down cake I've ever had. A word of warning, the restaurant can be at time a bit noisy and chilly but it is totally worth it! I love dining at Roy's and can't wait for my next trip back out to Kona to visit it again!

This is a tired - looking Roy's. Carpet throughout? Four unmatched low sofas in the waiting area? Very meh. Service is crisp and very friendly though, so they're meeting the standard there. Food was solid but not exceptional; standouts were shutome and blackened ahi, but scallops and ahi roll app left much room for improvement. Capsule summary? Going Through The Motions.
