Very tasty food cooked right. Awesome setting overlooking the large pond with fish. Helpful servers willing to educate you on the dishes and make suggestions, and get you the best deals. We went during happy hour (5-6) and got a steal of a deal on our food that included appetizers, main course, and dessert. Mekajiki (Swordfish) is excellent.

Took my step son and his new bride to Roy's following their beach sunset wedding at Hapuna Beach. Our waiter discovered that these two were newly weds and lavished us with the best service that I have ever received in my 68 years on this earth. For real folks! Even management kicked in and supplied us with mixed drinks and deserts on the house in celebration of the wedding. Left the biggest tip i have ever given to any restaurant. And, of course, the food was absolutely delicious. My new daughter-in-law is from Norway and she still talks about that night at Roy's to anyone who will listen. Made a big impression on all of us. I think they should get 10 stars.

This restaurant is perfect for a special occasion or a nice meal. Delicious soups, sushi and steaks. The crab cakes were amazing. Chocolate soufflé is on the dessert menu!

Expensive but overall worth it. Good birthday dinner for the wife here. One of the fancier places on the whole island.

By far the worst food we've eaten on this island. The service was great, the atmosphere was great, but the food was awful. The cocktails all tasted premixed with juice from concentrate, the fish was blah. So bland and boring. The only thing that was halfway decent was the braised short rib appetizer. For fresh, tasty food, sans the atmosphere, just head across the street to the food court and get Lemongrass, or Ippy's. Honestly, I'm recommending a food court over this place. It's that bad. The food in the Queen's Market Place food court is miles above and beyond anything you can get from Roy's. Cafe Pesto is a great option as well. It's about a 15-20 minute drive north, but well worth it!

Good atmosphere, good food, fast service ... Pricy but its worth every penny. Steak is not as great as ruth chris but its juicy and tender and the pinapple sauce is delicious ... The ribs are the best here. My husband ordered salmon... The sauce is different but very refreshing.

We had a reservation, and they were a bit late at seating us for it. Then put us in a spot that basically amounted to being in a hallway. The server was pretty slow to even greet us in the first place. I had the Misoyaki Butterfish, which was way too sweet for my taste, I didn't really taste the miso which is what I was excited about. My husband did pre fixe menu, which is a good arrangement, but like me, he ordered wrong. He got the jade pesto steamed fish (he doesn't remember what kind of fish it was), but the problem was that it came covered in a cilantro pesto. It didn't say cilantro on the menu, and he hates cilantro. We think it could have been good, but were pretty disappointed with what we did end up ordering.

The poke was really good as well as the fish with sizzling soy. A must if you are on the Big Island.
