As a foreword, I express my condolences to the survivors of the some-50 that fell, and the rest. No matter what I say next, don't forget that I express sorrow. This is mass murder, of all things, and the late Omar Mateen has paid the price. I shall never discount and undervalue the human soul.
Now I was told that the people who died were innocent. Nope. Nobody is innocent who is still in their sins. The sad truth was that if you've lived a lifestyle of homosexuality, where the Scriptures says that those who do cannot inherit the kingdom of God(see 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). The people that died early this morning are not in a good place in the eternal scheme of things, and for that there is much sorrow. At least there is yet hope for the 53 others that may live.
Yet as far as Muslims is concerned, putting the homosexual to death is doing Allah's work. Make no mistake that Mateen must have thought he was justified in doing so. Would it not be so how he deliberately confesses his M.O.? I can tell the Muslims have not taken over this nation yet because if they did, Omar Mateen would be alive and walking free right now. But how disturbing is it that the man in question was not crazy and was in his perfect right mind doing all this!
What was not yours to give is likewise not yours to take. What you didn't create is not yours to do with that creation as you please. Yet as this nation falls deeper and deeper into more moral decline, we've stopped heeding the word of God. What does God say about murder? What does God say about living by the sword? What does God say about those who are homosexual? What does God say about those who are in other sins than that? What does God say about those who think themselves Christians just because they know there's a God?
When the utter vast majority of us don't even hear the word of God preached, much less believe in it fully, is it any surprise things like this happen? Who are we to judge Omar Mateen? He did what he thought was right according to his religious belief! The Apostle Paul once had that attitude when he was consented to the death of Stephen and the rest of the Christians(Acts 8, 9). And Paul truly believed once that he was doing the Lord's work imprisoning and killing off Christ's disciples! Did that justify him?
My overall take-home point is that it's not what I say, it's not what you say, it's not what Mommy and Daddy say, it's not what society says, it's not what our law says, and it's not what any man-made religion says that establishes right from wrong. It is the LORD GOD'S say, but so many of us ignore Him that we might as well not go to Him for the answers to these problems. We allow people to live immoral lifestyles and then we allow people to believe lies and falsehoods in religion, and it ultimately comes down to this.
Even so, I refuse to not bat an eye to all this. Murder is murder is murder. There is only death and destruction for the murderer. Yet there is also death and destruction for the gay/lesbian/transgender/bisexual as well. After all, remember Sodom and Gomorrah. There is death and destruction for those who refuse to harken to God's word as we read in Jeremiah 6.
President Obama said it well that this was an "act of terror". Behold the Lord's terror(loosely referencing 2 Corinthians 5:11)! There is only one way we can truly prevent more of this happening: WE REALLY NEED TO LISTEN AND GIVE A HOLY HOOT ABOUT THE LORD OUR GOD.
