I'm glad you guys are doing spring specials, not enough shops do. Our local transmission shop usually has a couple of good ones, but I haven't had time to schedule a tune up yet. Our transmission is already in pretty good shape. http://www.parklandtransmission.com

On some cars it’s called a Check Engine light; others use a Service Engine Soon light. Still others just have a light with a picture of an engine on it. The industry calls it a MIL — Malfunction Indicator Lamp. All scary names for the same thing… something that isn’t scary at all. Basically the light means that the car’s computer has identified a problem in the system that needs attention. - ATRA - Here at Dunham Transmissions we can check out any MIL and tell you what it means! My '88 Jaguar was diagnosed by two separate shops (one a Jaguar dealership) as needing a new transmission. I took it to Dunhams at the suggestion of a friend. They quickly diagnosed the problem as a clogged filter and I was on my way in about an hour at the cost of $75 rather than $3,500 for a new transmission. These guys know what they do and they do it well.

I took my 04 Honda here to get a diagnostic done. My car wasn't shifting right at all I feared it was going to need a super expensive redo. Tom (the owner) drove my car and had it diagnosed within minutes! I brought it back the next day he worked his magic and now I'm happy as can be. This place is great! The price was a little bit higher but I was willing to pay it because they clearly know what they are doing.

My 96 Jetta's transmission was losing 2nd and Reverse. I brought it here without too much research and paid for it. They couldn't order the right part which ended up delaying the repair for about a month, and once it was "repaired" they told me that something in the ignition broke and it didn't start anymore unless I touched a wire to the battery terminal. Arguing back and forth over this issue lead to me not accepting the vehicle for months, finally Tom made it right reducing the price to the originally quoted price. 3 months later the gears are all over the place, we can barely shift into Reverse, First, or Second. I took it back hoping it was a warranty fix, and I was told it was a bushing and would be a 1/2 hour labor. 5 days later I am told they finally got the bushing in and it will be 5 hours of labor. I stopped any work right there and will be taking it to Riverwest Auto. Everyone has different experiences and different expectations of service, I hope others have better experiences, I know that even if my transmission dropped tomorrow and repair was covered under the warranty I would NOT go back again. I'd rather pay an honest company for quality service.

My 03 Impala wasn't pulling right at all. It had all sorts of lights on the dash and was driving awful. I had 2 other shops check it out. Dunhams was honest and upfront with me and quoted me a set price. I picked the car up 2 days later the price was the same as what I was quoted. I would recommend this place to everyone. Very honest and nice people.
