We're now using the beta channel on Google Play for early access to new stable releases. If no new bugs are found those versions are promoted to the 'production' channel. Most of the time the beta channel will contain the same version as the production channel.

We just published a new development version. It should be available to alpha testers[1] via Google Play shortly. Alternatively, you can download it using the link below K-9.

Changes in v5.103:
• Added ability to customize lock screen notifications (Android 5.0+ only)
• Fixed a bug where a certificate error was wrongly reported
• Updated translations

It looks like we skipped a few announcements here on Google+. Apologies for that!

A quick summary:
• RC 1 was released as K-9 Mail 5.000
• An update was released as 5.001. It disabled the newly introduced SSL/TLS session cachinging because it was causing problems for some users.
• As always, development continues and we occasionally publish snapshots with minor version numbers starting with an odd number.

Development versions you've probably missed:

v5.100:
• Removed SSL/TLS session caching because it was causing problems

v5.101:
• Fixed build problems that caused v5.100 to request the permissions READ_CALL_LOG and WRITE_CALL_LOG

v5.102:
• Improved 'open' functionality for attachments
• Removed APG legacy interface
• Fixed bug in Russian translation
