You know the name—Drucker—but do you know the person? This is Peter Drucker, an educator, prolific author, and management consultant who was described as the “father of modern management.” In 1971, he helped develop the country’s first executive MBA programs for working professionals at CGU. The Drucker School bears his name proudly and adheres to his philosophy of management as a liberal art, upholding his imperative that business organizations are accountable to society and should operate responsibly and ethically. #CGU90 #TBT

Garrett Towner, a new master’s student in history, came to CGU because of its strong academic reputation and stellar faculty.
"CGU has a reputation that’s so well built up that I heard about it from word-of-mouth. And when I was looking into schools to apply to and eventually become a professor of history, I had a particular subset of history that I was interested in. I looked at their faculty and there’s a professor whose specialization was in that.”

Holding the shovel in this December 1965 photo is Elisabeth Helm Rosecrans. She and her husband William S. Rosecrans were great supporters of CGU. The endowed Elisabeth Helm Rosecrans Professor of World Politics & Political Economy is named after her. William served as a member of the Claremont Graduate School and University Center’s Board of Fellows from 1940 to 1965. The Rosecrans Tower and Court, next to Hagelbarger’s, is named after him. ‪#‎CGU90‬ ‪#‎TBT‬

This is Annie Arcuri, who is enrolled in CGU’s master’s program in positive organizational psychology and evaluation. She recently shared her reasons for coming here.

“I came to CGU because I was interested in industrial and organizational psychology in general, but—more specifically—in the organizational component of it. CGU is one of the few places where I could get a degree with the organizational [component] without having to learn about the industrial [component]. And I’m also really interested in positive psychology, so I got to replace something that I wasn’t interested in with something that I was interested in.” ‪#‎StudentsofCGU‬

Nonso Nibo is a Drucker School of Management student who started this spring to pursue his MBA. He recently shared with us his reasons for coming to CGU: “The main reason was the atmosphere. I heard a lot of good things about the faculty here, and just to have that student life that I keep hearing about. I think that in itself was the main reason that I came here. I love to meet new people and the atmosphere is friendly, and that’s the type of place that I want to be in to further my education.” #StudentsOfCGU
