When: 9 a.m.

Where: Route starts at South Temple and State Street running east to 200 East, turns south to 900 South, then turns east to Liberty Park at 600 East in Salt Lake City

Presented by KSL 5 and Workers Compensation Fund
Televised by KSL 5

Colorful floats, bands, horses, clowns and other entries thrill thousands of spectators each year. Many families camp out on the streets the night before to ensure a great seat to catch it all the following morning. The Parade starts at State Street and South Temple.

We encourage you to join us for a wonderful morning of excitement and colorful entries in our much-loved Parade. During early June, check back to view a list of the parade entries in the order they will appear.
Remember that businesses are in operation and residents live along the Parade route. Please respect their property! Let them get some sleep if you’re camping overnight nearby and be sure to pick up trash and remove all your camping gear (like that sofa or mattress that is headed to the dump!) on Thursday morning before you leave the area.

Here’s another grand idea for you! After the Parade, mosey on over to the EnergySolutions Arena where our Rodeo will be getting underway. This is a return of the decades-old tradition of the Rodeo and Parade in downtown Salt Lake. Don’t miss our bronco-bustin’ action!

Attend our Sunrise Service– then watch the Parade!

The Pioneer Chapter of the Sons of Utah Pioneers will present a Sunrise Service honoring Utah’s pioneers. The program features the Tabernacle organist and several hundred voices in combined choirs from around the valley. A keynote speaker will deliver an inspirational message.

Begin your 2014 version of the holiday on July 24th with the Sunrise Service flag ceremony, music and message — in the true spirit of the pioneers, while greeting The Days of ’47 Royalty.

The Music Director will lead area choirs with musical selections including patriotic and religious arrangements celebrating pioneer challenges, accomplishments and “Our Anchor for the Future” today and tomorrow.

The Sunrise Service begins at 7 a.m. in the Tabernacle on Temple Square, Salt Lake City.
Free admission and no tickets are required.
For more information about the 2014 Sunrise Service, contact:
Dick Christiansen, 801-295-9558 or ricmar29@msn.com.

EnergySolutions Arena

Bring your hat, the kids and your enthusiasm!  See what we’re all about here.

Tickets are on sale  at the EnergySolutions Arena Box Office.
The 2014 Rodeo will bring you more bucking, more broncs, more buckaroos and enough bareback riding for any die-hard Rodeo fan.  This will be the best yet and you will want to be there to see it all.
We are updating and finalizing our plans, so be sure to visit again for all the latest news.  Our Rodeo, a must-see event, is the state’s oldest by a hop, skip and a jump.  You’ll be impressed by the competitors who join us in 2014 due to the increased prize money available for the cowboys and cowgirls who compete from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Don’t miss your chance to see nationally-ranked champions while they ride, rope and rough it for our Rodeo’s great prize money.

We’ll feature bareback and saddle bronc riding, bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, steer wrestling and tie-down roping. Bull riders will be protected by PRCA bull fighters and barrel/rodeo clown Keith Isley.  Isley’s amazing antics and world-famous comedy really entertain the crowds.

In 2014, our Rodeo will kick off July 22nd and run through the 26th.   Saturday’s finale begins at 6:00 p.m.  Pull on those boots and come on down!

July 21 and 22, 2014
South Towne Expo Center, Sandy, Utah
11 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day; no tickets required

Get out your magnifying glass to inspect those floats!

Meet the creators and technicians behind the 2014 Days of ’47 Parade floats and see how it all comes together — even before the Parade rolls! Vote for your favorite float and, after the Preview Party ballots are counted, watch the banners on July 24th to see if your favorite float won the “People’s Choice” or the “Children’s Choice” award.

Here’s another highlight — the Youth Parade’s winning float will be included in the Parade on July 24th AND all Youth Parade floats are invited to participate in the Float Preview Party.  They are a happy feature at the Preview Party and folks want to vote for them!  Sorry — they will not win the Children’s Choice or People’s Choice awards!  But you’ll want to see them anyway.

Visit South Towne Expo Center on July 21 and 22, 2014 to preview many of the Parade floats and join the excitement as Parade day nears. The party begins at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. on both days. The South Towne Expo Center has plenty of parking and TRAX is a short distance away.
