Interesting stuff! Some cameras offer a built-in focus bracketing function too. It'd be nice if CHDK allowed more than 3 focal points.
 
Knowing Ed, CHDK may soon allow for more...
 
Handled (but did not use) one of those focus-in-post-processing-software cameras this last weekend. Trippy.
 
A macro version of (or adapter for) a light-field camera would be very interesting.
