The boys enjoyed the annual Bike Rodeo! Rhys did great, first time there without the extra wheels.

That's great! Congrats, Rhys! :) I remember my first bike & training wheels in Senecaville, and the red tricycle we both rode till I got too tall.:) Ah, the awesome feeling of two wheels instead if 2+2mini donuts! Lol. Ciao!

Some more photos from Barcelona. We took a longer walk from the hotel down to the seaside. The city was full of people strolling through the tall and narrow alley ways lined with shops . Walking those streets reminded me of Paris where one could not take the same street twice and never see it all.

Lovely morning! After the rains but before the summer heat arrives.

Let's just say that a 15 gallon barrel is definitely a two person lifting job. Gonna regret moving that one myself.

I feel reminded of our last visit to Kloster Andechs in Bavaria, bought 5 cases of Doppelbock. They had this 6 by 4 by 2 foot monk that carried all 5 cases to the car in one go, wearing sandals ..

This is my third year of lambic-style brew, 60% pilsner and 40% raw wheat. I'm a bit late since the Texas winter didn't last very long but the Battle Shed's steady temp at 55F helps simulate those colder nights. About 24 hours after pitching East Coast Yeast Bug Country I have 11 gallons of fermentation in a rum barrel. I'll be brewing another 15 gallons in a Rye Whiskey barrel next to build up stock for next year's blending of 3, 2 and 1 year old Woxbic!

Our almost 25 year old fence had been in disrepair for quite some time and was in need of a complete replacement. I shopped around for fence builders in my local area of Pflugerville and I also decided to give Viking a call and obtained some quotes for a all cedar fence with metal posts. Viking wasn't the cheapest option, but I felt the most confident in their ability to build a quality, lasting fence. Working with Rick was a pleasure. Rick helped guide our selection process and provided a complete quote quickly. When the work crew arrived, Jeovany led the team and took down our 400 linear ft fence line in half a day and started putting the the new posts very quickly. Jeovany's crew worked with me on gate locations and working around some obstacles close to the fence line to ensure we had a fence that looked exactly as we wanted. Our entire fence was completely replaced in three days time. When looking at the final product, I know this is a fence that will last for a long time and the whole experience was super easy. Thanks Rick and Jeovany!

Where to begin... oh right, the Gueuze! Arrived with some friends and sat at an outside table under a light mist. Julia greeted us and asked what we wanted to drink. We grabbed a Oude Gueuze from the draft menu list (Tilquin) and then ordered a meat and cheese plate. After enjoying that lovely beer accompanied with some great meats and cheeses, we asked for the bottle menu. Straight to the Spontaneous page. We started with an Cantillon Gueuze. Julia poured three glasses for us and left the bottle in the basket. The beginning of something amazing was about the start. We followed up with a bottle of 3 Fontain Oude Gueuze, and then a Girardin, and then another Cantillon, Grand Cru (single barrel). Cantillon Zwanze 2013. Julia served us the entire time and we had a wondering time. We finished the evening with a request for a sour saison. Julia delivered De Ranke Cuvee de Ranke. What an amazing beer and a truly amazing finish. Anytime I'm remotely near Moeder Lambic in Brussels, I'll be sure to stop in.
