#NaNoWriMo  day 2: 907 + 2104 = 3011 words.

#NaNoWriMo day 1: 0 + 907 = 907 words. Better than I was afraid of, given an exceptionally busy November 1st (work, commute, rehearsal...). Time to accelerate starting tomorrow.

Note to self: putting other WriMos in your Google+ circles doesn't count as writing.

If you don't yet have a way to track your #NaNoWriMo progress, below is a link to my Google Docs spreadsheet for anyone to copy and use. You can plug in a different number of days or word count (for the pros who want more of a challenge than 50,000 words!), and has columns that track your progress against the traditional 1667-per-day target, and a "decreasing daily word count" that starts out agressive (3226 words the first day!) and gets easier each day (only 108 words on November 30!).

#NaNoWriMo  day T-1: ...Nothin'.

So... despite my intention to do lots of great preparation during October, it looks like I'll be winging it starting tomorrow. Oh, well. That worked out well enough last year. See you in the hangouts...!

#NaNoWriMo  day T-27: brain-dumped 16 ideas for scenes into what might, with suitable coaxing, turn into an actual outline document.

Real life and a rehearsal intruded on NaNo time today, but it was good to get these out of the head and into a document. Here's hoping they'll breed and create some, you know, actual plot.

#NaNoWriMo day T-28: the preparation begins.

Getting reacquainted with the great G+ WriMos! Added more people to my Writers circle! Updated my nanowrimo.org profile! Added my first nanowrimo.org writing buddies!

Wait, what? ...an outline? ...character sketches? That's just crazy talk...

#NaNoWriMo day 29: 47005 + 3100 = 50105 words. Whew!

Of course, calling this lump of words a "novel" is pretty generous. But you never know, some of the raw material might grow up to be part of a real novel some day... :-)

#NaNoWriMo day 28: 44037 + 2968 = 47005. I've hit a stride, and am ahead of the 1667-per-day pace for the first time since... day 1.

And what a glorious mess I'm writing! Looking forward (?) to NaNoEdMo... :-)
