In my search for a free open world pvp mmo I've noticed that the shadowbane emulator team managed to get a public closed beta server going that's openly accessible.  Log in, make character, die to first mob. Ah, memories.

It seems that eqnext landmark is functional even on a machine with less than the minimum requirements. This essentially means that running in a straight line for longer than 5 seconds makes the character fall through the landscape (you move faster than it loads I assume, at least it ports you back on top once it catches up).. Harvesting and rudimentary building doesn't seem to be affected. Going around to have a look at claims is a pain though.

Taking my obligatory part in the shitstorm.

That will be all. Move along.

They've already rebranded the Occulus Rift. That was quick! I like the new industrial design, too.

It has occurred to me that since I finally have a data plan on my phone I can play ingress. I have no idea if ingress is still a thing but I've been looking for an excuse to leave the house more often so it'll have to do for now.

Oh shit I'd forgotten about Ingress, and I'm hopefully getting a data plan today. Now to just wait for my ankle to unbreak itself...

(On a completely unrelated note, +Andrew M I am looking for an email address to contact you with for that Nomic game I am starting.)

A possible lake of water. But still interesting enough.

A lake of water somewhere else other than Earth. Life might be there.

The best thing about Hearthstone is wining by summoning a leper gnome, then killing it yourself the same turn.

Also yesterday, I had a board of minions but not enough to kill him this turn, had one taunt creature and he had just enough to drop me to 0. Attacked with everything, hexed one of my own creatures. Boom, extra blocker. He surrendered.

Talking #pathfinder here. As a small sized character would one be able to use the mounted mounted combat feat while riding another party member (assumed size medium or larger)?

As per the ride skill: "You are skilled at riding mounts, usually a horse, but possibly something more exotic, like a griffon or pegasus. If you attempt to ride a creature that is ill suited as a mount, you take a –5 penalty on your Ride checks.". And there'd be another -5 for riding bareback I would assume. Unless you find a very creative saddle maker.

What penalties would the ridden character get? It is assumed they have enough strength to not be encumbered.

tl;dr: how would you treat one party member(or npc) riding another one into battle?

As children, we played mounted combat while swimming in creeks around our community. That way if one fell off the shoulders of their ride, it wouldn't hurt.

I just got a couple of emails that were caught by my not-sent-to-an-existing-email filter which i have on a domain. Oddly enough they were sent to "FedEx.com" <[random letters]@[mydomain]>

Now I have the mails on that domain routed to google apps, is there any chance that some part of the chain was compromised and people are sending spam from my domain? And how can I find out?

Most blacklisting systems I'm familiar with blacklist the unsecured server, not necessarily the domain.  Probably because of situations like this.

I'm afraid that this is the wrong Andrew :(

I like to make games and other things which aren't games but are still code. I also like to make things which are neither games nor code, or are games but aren't code.

I will probably disagree with you. Vocally. It's not personal.
