This will sound cliche but a friend of mine got a couple from a source in NYC (don't know who) who got it directly from Kaweco. Apparently a bit limited right now, but if you ping Kaweco I'm guessing they would know who's carrying them.

+Johnny Vulkan, here's the dialog 2 clip retraction in action. Realizing I need a hands free mount for my phone to make clips like this!

I love that you video'd this Jeff. I'm sat here chuckling to myself at the fact that I am enjoying watching a 40 second video of how a pen clip mechanism works!

My old model has held up extremely well. No scratches after something like 15 years.

Any "Rite in the Rain" all-weather notebooks always handy if you're in the outdoors much - particularly functional in the rainy Pacific Northwest.

I think it might be for mapping terrain.  So if you're ever doing that might be useful :).  Btw, I love the subject of this community.

Lovin' the Namiki Vanishing Point fountain.  New Lamy rollerball just arrived.  Lamy x Knud Holscher "dialog 2".  Palladium finish, retracting clip when twisted open.  Mmm mmm mmm.

I think we need video or at least a 'vine' of the mechanism in action. Looks lovely.

So was speaking with a friend of mine who happens to be a Pilot/Namiki Vanishing Point fan informed me that the new models are re-designs of previous version that had a much more integrated clip (1973 design shown here).  I have to agree I like how they were.  Looking at this history page, appears that 1994 was last time they had the integrated clip (http://carmenriverapens.com/Vanishing_Point_images/index.htm)

My preferred writing utensil: The Dixon Tri-Conderoga #2 - soft touch black finish with triangular shaped barrel.  Electric sharpener recommended.
