Reminds me of my mother's cooking when I was a child. Large portions and great taste. I highly recommend going there.

Don't believe negative reviews!!! The amount of food is very good. The food itself is delicious. The service is perfect and the atmosphere in the restaurant is that of comfort. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only drawback is that it's a little pricier than most delis I've been to BUT it's totally worth it for the quality food. The menu is extensive. I will eat there every time I go back to visit Manhattan.

I used to live on the corner of the original 2nd Ave Deli but it was long gone during my time there so one day I randomly found myself next to this place and decided to finally give it a try. I've tried Katz, Carnegie etc and this place is up there with Katz but not as good as I was hoping for...I have tried better in NYC. The Pastrami is $15 and of course, as you would expect, huge and served with plenty of mustard. Matzo ball soup here was pretty good too, supposed to be one of if not the best in NYC.

2nd Ave Deli is the best deli in the city, in my opinion. Katz's is good for a drunken sandwich in the middle of the night, and their food is very good. If you want the best, and a real restaurant, go to 2nd Avenue Deli. Pastrami is always a great choice, and throw in a Matzoh Ball Soup or Latkes for good measure. Be prepared to pay too much for a sandwich, but you'll be happy you did.

The Pastrami on rye sandwich with a touch of mustard, was divine. Enormous but, just divine. Second Ave Deli is as New York as it gets. Love this place.

it's a New York Deli...what more can I say. The chicken soup is good, the sandwiches are big. No atmosphere but then it wouldn't be a NY deli if there were!!!
