The fish fry was very large and delicious and the sides of Mac salad Cole slaw and fries were very tasty as well. The bar tender was very friendly as well as the manager and the atmosphere inside is very upscale and fancy. The bar was well stocked the menu was extensive with Italian and American cuisine. I look forward to more dinners in this will kept fine dining secret in south buffalo.

Went to Francesca's on a Friday, Oct.3, 2014 for the first time with a friend. We arrived around 4:00 pm. there were only a few people at the bar and no other customers. We were seated promptly by a very nice young man who was our waiter. We ordered wine. He proceeded to open the bottle and the cork screw broke and he cut himself. He excused himself and came back with the bottle opened. We ordered a fish fry, which is not on the menu but is offered as a BOGO if it is a takeout for $14.00. We were told that it was $14.00 each if we ordered it as our entree within the restaurant. It came with french fries and coleslaw. We could substitute macaroni salad for coleslaw. My friend asked if she could get a small salad or vegetable instead. The response was no, but with a little pleading the waiter said he would give her some salad. We then waited approximately 45 minutes before the food came. We asked if bread was included with the meal. Again our waiter didn't know and proceeded to the kitchen. Five minutes later, our food arrived minus the bread. The fish itself was good but the fries and macaroni salad were mediocre at best. When we were done, we decided not to get dessert or coffee. The bill came and my friend said" this doesn't look right". They charged us $18.00 each for the fish fry. To our dismay, we just paid the bill and left. When we left, there still were no customers in the restaurant and it was close to 6:00 pm. I just think it is a disgrace to charge that much for a fish fry when you don't even get a salad or bread with your meal especially for $18.00. Unfortunately I will not be going back there. Service was slow, staff was not well informed and prices too high for what you get served on your plate. We should have just ordered the fish to go and ate it at home. Francesca's needs to shape up.

Great food and atmosphere! Everyone at our table had plenty of leftovers. They even surprised my mother with a canoli with a candle for her birthday!

This place is horrible and has every red flag imaginable. Weird tasting water, dirty dishes, and poor service. I booked this place the for day after Valentines Day after I saw the reasonably priced menu with all of the tempting dishes. Low and behold upon entering it was completely empty. We stood there for 5 minutes before anyone seated us. We received a Rediculously priced Valentines Day special, two people for $100.00. I had to take a double take. This place is a hole in the wall and looks like it came out of an episode of kitchen nightmares with Gordon Ramsey. After looking at the sheets fine dining price and the fact that I was sitting directly next to a bar my mood had soured a bit. We then received two menus. I received a menu that did not reflect the price of the menu I saw online, it was 40% more. My husband had decided on the lasagna and I immediately asked him why he would want 18 dollar lasagna. He responded that his menu said it was only 12 dollars. Our menus were completely different. 10 minutes late when our waiter finally came or from the back I asked him which one was correct. It was the more expensive menu that was right and he apologized for the old menu. Luckily we decided to leave because I'm certain had we not ended up at a Fridays we would have paid a lot of money for hep c or ecoli. Don't go here. .. Don't ever ever go here. Please warn people. This resteraunt is the freaking sleasiest.

Absolutely some of the best and reasonably priced food I have eaten in the Buffalo area... What can I say from the minute we were greeted to our server Tony, the staff was outstanding. Don't bother ordering an appetizer, my girlfriend and I made that mistake the first time we went there, we didn't know the portions were so big. You can tell the food was prepared that day and not earlier in the week and then frozen. They have a great combination on their menu and I cannot say enough about our 5 star experience there, definitely going back for a third, fourth, fifth and beyond times.

Recently had dinner for what was probably my fifth or sixth visit. Had the seafood ravioli, very unique dish that was excellent. Great service too.

Been coming here for years; it's like visiting Little Italy - the place is gorgeous! I usually come during happy hour for a cheap dinner off the 1/2 price appetizer menu. Last Friday a group of us had reservations for dinner. I love seafood so our waiter suggested the stuffed shrimp appetizer followed by the Frutti DiMaire (spelling?) which means "fruit of the sea" and it was incredible! Our table shared Gnocci with gorgenzola cream sauce and it is out of this world! It's not on the menu so ask for it. They are known to make most anything you like. Katealina Pizza is my fav - its got a cream cheese/garlic base with chicken, spinach & artichoke. (All their pizzas and chicken wings are awesome!) Eggplant rolletini is amazing. I haven't had the pork chop yet, but I heard other diners raving about it. If you are really hungry or want to share a plate, their lasagna is huge - more than enough for two people! Every weekend they have live music and don't charge covers like most other places. Nice wines, and all the staff is very friendly!

Ordered a filet got it burnt hard as a rock. Called to complain was told 10 MIN. Waited 25 MIN fir a new one. Opened the box to find a strip steak and that wasnt cooked to order. Called back to complain again and that's when they decided to tell us they ran out of filets. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! you didn't feel the need to mention that in the 25 MIN I stood there with no word on how long my food would be. I didn't order a strip nor did I pay for a strip. I paid for a filet. They're sending us a $10 gift certificate. Like we would make the mistake of ordering there again. They must be cutting costs to fix the giant yapping whole in the ceiling above the bar. And the lasagna was dry no sauce to be found. Save yourself the headache.
