+Graeme Jago : Haven't been on here since our last lengthy conversation, but am glad to see you uploaded the rest of your shots. As far as the x-processing goes keep experimenting with different films...as they will all have their own inherent differences. I like using Fuji Provias, and if you can still find it Kodak e100G. Good luck man!
A tremendous meteor burned up over Russia around 09:30 local time. It was as bright as the Sun and the sonic boom shattered windows. There are reports of injuries from shattered glass, and preliminary reports (unconfirmed) of pieces hitting the ground. Here's what I have so far:
My one purchasing aim for this year is to get a decent quality medium format camera, something like a Bronica or a Mamiya.
So far I have bought another Bencini Koroll half frame camera (yes, another one, so technically I have one full frame Bencini now) and today I sort of accidentally bid on a Lubitel 2 and won it.
As you can see, I am zero steps closer to getting a decent medium format camera, so can any of you guys give me any tips on getting the best out of the Lubitel when it gets here? Also, please could someone come round my house and delete my ebay account?
+Graeme Jago they are very cool looking cameras, and while it may not be the most important thing in a camera, girls absolutely love them! Especially that wonderful shutter sound. Absolute bugger on a cold day though...
I've never either shot slide film, or had it cross processed before this week, so when I got my processed negs, prints and scans back from lab I just assumed that was how they were supposed to look, you know, like redscale...
Anyway, image on the left is the scan I got from the lab CD (that my prints were done from) image on the right is from my own scan, with temp correction in Lightroom.
Now I'm no expert, but I feel like perhaps the lab done goofed.
I totally agree +Graeme Jago, I've had FAR more engaging photography discussions here than nearly anywhere else. People here are amazing at sharing their ideas without becoming confrontational, and are generally interested in what others are doing as well!
