We are running a six-week Crowdfunder campaign to raise vital funds to take No Limits? to Europe.

Our No Limits? campaign highlights the urgent need for science-based catch limits for Blue Sharks and other No Limits? species.

But we need your help. Please help us take an important step forward towards our goal of ending uncontrolled shark fishing at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/sharktrust.

Yesterday at the CMS Shark meeting in Costa Rica, our Conservation Director Ali Hood presented the new Global Strategy for the Conservation of Sharks and Rays (2015–2025) on behalf of a global coalition of partners in shark and ray conservation. This 10-year plan for turning around the conservation status of sharks is based upon the best science and trade data available, and will shape our global effort for the coming years.

Check out this Virtual Shark Dive that provides a full 360 experience!
While you can use the cursor on your desktop to move around this underwater experience, it's definitely best viewed from a phone or tablet (warning: this may have you spinning around on your office chair as you follow the sharks!) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNOT_feL27Y

Just in case you missed this over Christmas...meet the newly discovered Ninja Lanternshark!

This deep-sea shark is currently known to occur off the Pacific coast of Central America to depths of over 1400m. Its common name derives from its jet-black colour and use of bioluminescence to stalk prey. The species' scientific name - Etmopterus benchleyi - honours 'Jaws' author, Peter Benchley, who spent much of his post-Jaws life promoting shark conservation.

The full scientific description is available for free download at: http://www.oceansciencefoundation.org/josf/josf17d.pdf
