Everything you need to know about tomorrow and Saturday's WFDU Fundraiser's presented by Signal to Noise

If you only have to listen to one of my shows this week (and you do) I would make it this one. In thirty years when I dust this baby off for the grandkids and they say "Pop pop is this the episode where you went nuts and just played Blurred Lines for four hours straight?" I'll answer "Welp, that's what it would seem to the average fella, but if you pay close attention there are several clues to finding the lost Chadman Raybur treasure. Ol' Chadman created the comic strip Heathcliff and decided he didn't want any of the royalties so he buried all the checks that came in somewhere in NJ. You listen to this closely enough you'll find those checks for yourselves"

Then of course my grandkids will go on a Goonies/Wes Anderson-like adventure listening to the show until they find an old chest buried under an oak tree in the woods with a letter from Pop-Pop saying - "Kids- I just made up the name Chadman Raybur, I don't know who invented Heathcliff or Garfield or whoever the hell I said (I'd be old at this point and prone to a spotty memory in all likelihood) Pop pop just wanted to give you an adventure. And of course you'reidiots for thinking you'd be able to cash checks that aren't in your name and over 30 years old. But I that's your parent's problem."

So you see what I'm saying- this show is THAT good.

No new show tonight, because let's be honest....I'm a coward. A punk. I got no heart. Little bit of snow falls and I'm locking myself indoors for three days inside a blanket fort.
Now, here comes the important part- WFDU is fundraising this month, a quieter and gentler kind of fundraising where you simply click on the Donate to WFDU on the www.wfdu.fm page and you can make a simple, quick donation, help out public radio and feel good about yourself all in likely under 4 minutes. I'm not sure how much we brought it last week but being the masochist at heart that I am I think it would be funny if I pulled in more money on the week I"m not there just to confuse everyone. So IF you can, IF you listen to the show and can throw us a couple of bucks please go to the website and donate mention the show name.

In the meantime you can check out my interview with the legendary Al C. who put together not only 3 fundraiser shows in the area (the first of which is this Saturday at the Asbury Park Yacht Club) but also a compilation of performances from his show Signal to Noise- Live at WFDU -Vol. 1 .
Listen to find out how you can get a copy by donating to the station.

Tonight- Take a break from scaring the shit out of the neighborhood kids and join us for the 3rd-Show-Where-We-Play-Music-About-Haunted-Stuff-And-Talk-About-Halloween-And-Whatnot.

Signal to Noise host Al C stops by and who knows who else will ring the doorbell? (there actually is a doorbell at the station and a lot of people ring it so seriously, who knows?)

It'll be like 10,000lbs of whatever the opposite of candy corn is.

Point the speakers at your neighbor's house at
